  • Thanks for all the ideas people. makes me feel ever so slightly embarassed that I don't use it more/know what to do with it! And I'm a good cook.....I should know better. Will defo try out some of those recipes.
  • thanks a million for posting these!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE anything with coconut in it so when I saw the first recipe, I was like 'I'm so making that'. Love chickpeas also. Great recipes, thanks
  • Ok thanks witchmoo! I will check back later.
  • I make my own chicken nuggets for our 2 kids, crushed cornflakes on the outside. They are divine. My 3 year old scoffs them down.
  • Oh what's THIS recipe? Does it freeze well? I batch make food and don't cook with sweet potato enough.
  • Thanks for the suggestions. I know it's good for you (anything green is good for you so my mam says, beetroot is fab too) so often wonder what to do with it. Keep them coming!
  • Is it healthy canneloni? Love pasta but haven't eaten pasta in ages tbh. Would love the recipe, thanks!
  • Just going to bump this up to see what other people thought. thanks
  • Do you have access to a microwave? I bring all my own food to work: breakfast, lunch and snacks. I bulk make things like spicy lentil stew, chilli con carne, bean soup etc that I can freeze/heat up in the microwave in work. All low cal, convienent and tasty.
  • Oh a crumble, good idea. Quick and easy and I can make it healthy. thanks.
  • I work mon-fri, 2 kids (2 & 3), a house to run also (have a husband but most household stuff falls on my shoulders) and I exercise 4/5 times a week. I got up at 5am this morning to go for a 30min run before I had to get ready for work/get the kids up with husband. I then go to the gym after the kids go to bed at 8pm. Its…
  • I suffer with IBS symptoms and bad constipation. I've noticed a huge change since I started eating better. It wasn't a concious choice but I don't really eat cheese anymore, bread with yeast or yeast at all (totally bloats me and bad bad cramps), dairy etc. I only eat a small bit of milk on cereal in the morning. Pasta and…
  • Bulk make some stuff for the freezer and then just cook rice/pasta to go with it. I do this for days when we are busy/out and about to cook. It's great knowing you are still eating well but just conviently!
  • That is crazy as I have PCO also, not the full syndrome but cysts on my ovaries (hence I needed fertility treatment to conceive our 1st child) and I get IBS and constipation. The same as you. Interesting. I will make an appointment at some stage to see a specialised GP about this issue. BTW it is the mirena coil I have in,…
  • Oh another thing I just thought of........I dress up for my husband alot  and I have this cute nurse's outfit. To say it's beat onto me is an understatement. My poor squished boobs have no choice but to be hoinked up. So I'd like to fit into that without feeling like the zip just might burst at any point!
  • Good thread. Any tight fitting top and not to be sucking my tummy in. My whole top wardrobe has changed to loose fitting, style but loose fitting all the same. Everywhere else is fine apart from my awful stomach area.
  • Oh I watched the TV shows, most of them anyway. Turn off your brain in the evening kind of show (that and Katie, was watching that the other night!) . Shame on me I know. Should have been at the gym! She just seems to get obsessed about things in her life. She tried to be a tattoo artist one time too. Made a few shows…
  • Congrats, Nice arms by the way. How many days a week do you workout, what do you do etc etc??????
  • On the days I exercise, I eat more throughout the day IF I'm hungry enough. If I have some over at the end of the day and yet I'm full, I don't feel I need to eat them back. I like knowing that I will be exercising and hence if I'm starving, I'll have a healthy snack and some fruit.
  • Don't ye know she is going to cash in on her success now. Any way to make some money out of it, it's what she does. I mean, fair play to her for what she has achieved. No doubt she is driven to achieve that. But now the fun starts to the point where she claims to know it all and we are no doubt going to see more and more…
  • Obviously I wouldn't call what my PT said a bible as she isn't medically trained. I'm not that naive people. You'd want to see my tummy to know what I mean about it protruding. Literally it it like a little rounded pot belly that sticks out and is hard. It's not fat. Even when I suck in my stomach, it is still there. I am…
  • We have one of each; boy of 3 and girl of 2. They are both October babies. I had fertility treatment to conceive our son, our daughter was a huge shock as they are so close in age. 1year and 2 weeks to be exact. Our son is the image/temperment of my husband, our daughter is the image/temperment of me (feisty, angry, slams…
  • Either: - porridge with banana/blueberries - bitesize shredded wheat with banana/blueberries or blueberries/strawberries - always a hard boiled egg - pancakes with 2 slices of bacon - pancakes with heaps of fruit and blueberry yoghurt. Always one of the above, all come out at about 300 cals. very very filing and yum.
  • I too prefer the 'boys' side of my gym. I hate working out with poser girls, full of make-up/perfume, unsuitable runners etc. At least you don't get this in the boys side. I LOVE LOVE LOVE going upstairs with all the guys (there can be about 50 guys there at a busy time) and lifting my weights. Once I know what I am doing,…
  • Yep me. I was probably about 186 at my heaviest. I am currently at 176, want to be 160 to be happy. 154 is my ultimate goal but tbh, I think it would be too skinny for my frame. I'll be happy with 160.
  • I really suffer at this time too. Like all day, I am good. From 5pm-7pm, I am like a demon, picking on stuff, food I do not need. It's a terrible habit. I collect the kids from the creche and get them their tea. It takes some willpower not to pick at their food also. I make my own food early as at least then I'm not…
  • That sounds good!!!!!!!! I very well might be thanking you later!
  • Cheaper to eat healthy IMO. I batch make food and I'm always saying to my husband that it's sooooo cheap to make it. Meat would be the only expensive thing in it but I use 2-3 chicken fillets when I make a batch of something with chicken in it. Eating healthy is cheaper.
  • Thanks a million for the replies. It makes me feel better knowing that other people feel the same and know how torn we might feel trying to fit it all in. I'm sure myself and my DH will work things out over time.
  • My parents have started to take both kids on a sunday morning and give them lunch. So we have from say 9.30am-12/1pm to ourselves. We are going to start going to the gym together.
