Help with fitness routine
Hey, It's been a while since I was on here. I've a question/query/need help with my fitness routine: I'm busy (aren't we all I hear ye say?!). Work mon-fri, up at 5.50am, home at 4.30pm with the 2 kids from creche/school. Have a husband who I obviously need to spend SOME quality time with. Husband is home from work at…

Hate the weekends
I just go right downhill at the weekends. hate it. I start off so good on a sat morning, even went for a run at 7am, leaving my husband with the 2 kids. By mid aft on a sat, is where the cracks start to show. I always end up indulging myself at the weekend. Not an entirely bad thing as I dont' go way overboard but not like…

I offically HATE my belly
I hate it with a passion, I really do. Every top I try on to go to work, I take off as I'm so self concious of it. I'm sick of it at this stage. Did this this morning; had a lovely new top picked out, tried it on and had to take it off again. I could get away with it but I'm too self-critical to wear it. My legs are…

Not new but back on MFP
Hey, I was on here alot last year but gave it a miss for a good while as I knew what I should/shouldn't be eating and my exercise plan was prett steady-state. But I am back on MFP as of today!!! Basically, I need to write down what I eat on a daily basis so I can hold myself accountable to be honest. I've gained a few lbs…

Very OT - possible move from Ireland to Boston, MA
hey, I haven't posted on here in a good while, been plugging away myself as gym etc. This is very OT but myself and my DH are looking at moving to either Boston, MA or Dubai. My DH has been told my his employer to pick between the 2 as he cannot pursue both. We were originally looking at Dubai but now have shifted our…

Spinach - what to do with?
I've often bought a bag of spinach, used it once and thrown it away as it goes off so quick. I can only get HUGE bags of it here. What do you do with yours? Getting ever so slightly bored of asparagus/broccoli combo! thanks

I'm going to be hungry later
Been in the lab testing all day, 0 time to get out for snacks really. Going to spin/gym tonight, burn about 1000cals, protein shake after. Very little time to prepare food this evening also as I'll collect the kids at 4.30pm, home by 5. Try to entertain/look after/pacify them/prepare something to eat for them and maybe I…

There are 2 blocks of fois gras in my fridge
So my (french) husband asked one of his work colleagues to get him some fois gras when he was back in France on hols. We now have 2 rather fab blocks of rather fab fois gras in the fridge, waiting to be started this coming weekend. My problem is knowing when to stop. It's soooooo bad for you. I'll have just a small bit…

Curried quinoa
OMG I am in love with this dish. I make enough for a good few days during the week and mix it with whatever I have. I fry off onion, then add the quinoa and fry off for a while. Add some smoked paprika and curry powder. I also add some dried cranberries and raisins at this stage. Add 2 cups of boiling water (1 cup of…

Why do I do this to myself?
I lost 5lbs over the course of 4-5 weeks, had a new gym programme done up, tweeked my diet. When I lose some weight, I then go back to eating some crap and gain a lb or two. Why do I not just continue? I think I've done great and I slip back into my old ways. I ALWAYS do this. Getting my programme changed again tomorrow…

At home sick on the sofa :-(
I am DRAINED, like exhausted. I don't know what's up. I know there is a viral thing going round. I went to the gym last night, up for a run this morning at 4.50am. I was tired half way round (only 35mins or so). Came home and was nauseous/dizzy/totally wrecked. Decided not to go to work. Went to bed and slept for 3hrs,…

Did anyone see the TV programme on BBC just now?
Sorry only for the UK/Ireland people here. Well no anyone that has BBC1. The programme was The Truth About Sport Products. They talked about drinks, runners and supplements including protein shakes. Interesting stuff. Basically a group of scientists in Oxford University in the UK found no evidence that sports drinks make…

See now...this is how is starts
I'm not doing any exercise this evening (gym last night, run this morning) so it's a night in with my husband (and SIL who is over visiting and staying with us). It's a slippery slope downhill starting with a nice dinner then I will buy/make something (usually bad) for dessert. We don't get many nights in together as we…

So proud of me!
I'm so proud of me this morning. Yesterday was my 1st day of my new super healthy eating and exercise plan. I went to the gym as normal yesterday; 30mins cardio and then 1hr weights/situps/lunges. 750 cals...in bed at 11pm. One kid woke at 23.30 for the toilet, the other one woke at midnight for the toilet also. Went to 1,…

New monday, diet 100% good
It's going to be hard. I'm a sucker for a cup of tea and a biscuit. My exercise is totally fine, it's my diet stopping me loosing the lbs. I exercise 3-4 times a week and typically burn about 2500 cals but I am not losing any lbs. It's my diet. It's 90% good, 10% bad. I know what I need to do to change this, I just need to…

Protruding stomach and the coil....linked??
I've been attending a personal trainer for a few weeks now. Seen her 3 times. Find her great and she knows her stuff as she had been doing it about 20 years. My tummy area is my real problem area. I've really toned arms and legs (she even said this herself) yet my tummy still hangs on in there. She said this in the nicest…

Great exercise on x-trainer
I started my new gym programme last night, given to me by one of the personal trainers in my gym. One of the exercises she gave me to do is this: (You DON'T need to hold the moving arms for this, hands just on the normal stationary handle) Resistance at 6/7 Cross trainer - 130-140 RPM to start off with, warm up for about 1…

Think I'm in love with my daily afternoon snack
It's white grapefruit segments (segmented by me the night before, cannot be doin' with all that peeling etc of a grapefuirt or orange for that matter!), 4 medium strawberries cut up, 6-8 red seedless grapes, 2-3 tablespoons of Glenisk Greek style blueberry yoghurt and about 10g of Tesco finest granola. The granola does…

Craving something sweet
What can I do to get rid of this craving? I'm in work and we usually get a small bar or something similiar at about 2pm. Oh I just rememberedI have an apple in the fridge at the top of the office area..........that should sort me out! This is why I bring heaps of snackey-type things with me to work so I won't go for the…

Right, that's it today is THE day I start again
I've had ENOUGH of being this weight. I weighed myself this am and I am up again. Been eating crap lately and snacking alot also. So I had a gym assessment yesterday, got a new programme which seems fab, cannot wait to get started tonight. I had been waiting over a month to get it done and was getting really pee'ed off no…

Life/Work/Kids/DH V exercise
My dilema is: I'd love to be able to work out more, like 6 days a week. But with working mon-friday, up at 6am, 2 small kids, I don't get a whole load of time to exercise. I generally exercise after the kids go to bed, so hit the gym at 7.45pm. Spend about 1hr30mins exercising, cool down, shower, home by 9.45ish. My DH…

Bought a new outfit today for a night out...
...and I don't think I've EVER been soooooooo depressed. Even my DH said it was a bit tight on me. AND for the skirt (which I never wear but I thought I'd try one), I got a size up to my normal size. HEADWRECKING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now in fairness the shop I got the clothes in is normally for younger people than me in…

Thoughts on this
It's not a big deal, just something that bugged me. I changed gyms as we moved house. New spin class, new instructors. I pulled liagments in both knees last year, my right knee cap floats still causing a build-up of pressure every now and again. I find it hard to do seated climbs plus any type of standing squats on the…

Ouch ouch ouch...it hurts to walk today!
Went for a run last night outside. Been taking it easy with running outside as my glutes are at me so my hips/lower back are sore. Made it thru the run (50mins stopping every now and again for a 30second walk) but I am sore today. It hurts to walk. Came downstairs with my 2+half yr old on my hip, sore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ice…

Plateau=Brainwave=lower my cals to 1200
I took at 4 month-ish break at the end of last year due to family reasons. Since I started back at the start of this year, I've found it impossible to lose any weight. I actually gained 3 lbs instead! In total I gained about 6lbs. So the only thing I can think of is that somewhere along the lines, I changed my goals (can't…

Don't think I look like the lbs I weigh
I mean, when I look in the mirror, I don't think I look like I am 173lbs/12stone 5 lbs (god sounds like alot when I convert into stone!Eeekkkkkk). I carry most of my weight in my stomach area. Stuck literally for months at this weight and it's really getting to me. BUT when I look at myself in the mirror (my skewed view of…

Feeling skinny today - YAY!!!
After a bad bad day yesterday with stomach bloating, cramps, pain. I looked pregnant it was that bad. But today.....I feel great. Stomach has gone down alot and I feel skinny. At least my tummy isn't rock hard and bloated anymore. I can suck it in without it hurting me. Win win.

Need advise....please!!!!
I need advise on my food/workout routine. I've hit a major plateau and I don't really know how to overcome it. I started losing the extra post-baby weight back in 2011. Lost nearly 2 stone (28lbs). I've hovered around 170lbs for a long while now but lost all the time. I stopped exercising for about 4 months last year as…

Every monday I'm bloated
I'm soooooo sick of this. It really puts me in a bad mood on a monday. I'm bloated, very sore/hard tummy/crampy, tired, hot and cranky. I'm trying to think back to what I ate yesterday that might have triggered it as I suffer with it alot. Nothing jumps out at me. It's not from lack of bowel movement as I was fine over the…
