I'm a Systems Engineer at work by title, although I'm a Human Factors Specialist by function. I'm currently in an Engineering Management and Systems Engineering program for grad school....I haven't decided which side I want to go with, but I'm rather tempted by both...

I find sometimes that I get random requests with no message and no clue how they found me...heck even just some idea would be good...
-
Guess I'm a little late to notice this thread....
-
Probably a much better choice than talking to the forums in general!
-
Baller! (I think that says it all)
-
Even without checking my lifting records....you got me beat on front and back squats (I don't even have that much data on overhead yet).
-
I'll have to watch it again and look closer, I was too busy dreaming of a day that I can do muscle ups...

This was posted to my box's facebook group, thought people might enjoy http://vimeo.com/bougie/leanlifting

My goals are a work in progress, but some things I'd like to work on: -Free standing Handstands -Double Unders...sometimes I can get a couple, but a lot of the time I still struggle with them -Faster run times -Improve my rowwing -Muscle ups!!!

The owner of my box posted this and since it is on the same topic I thought I'd post http://crossfitsoutharlington.tumblr.com/post/15136098339/ive-got-good-news-for-you-or-bad-news-however

I just list it as circuit training...or if just lifting as weight training. I don't exactly care if it is 100% spot on since weight isn't my focus
-
Today there was only one class....it was rather packed. Some of the folks I didn't know were just folks that hit the morning WoD...not resolution folks....
-
I wonder how many points that ended up raise the conversations you see on the boards...if nothing else at least less annoying
-
Ditto...I think it is time to just hit ignore on the troll....

Yea, if a lift isn't being done properly then dump. You talk about research, but yet there can only be the clean and jerk not any other lift that people could be doing. I'll admit when I first saw your original clip it looked really horrible to me and others at my box, before someone pointed out that they weren't doing…
-
That's cause they are instead trying the Strongman version of the lift (you know those folks that have truck pulls and atlas stone lifts as part of their competitions). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clean_and_jerk look at the explaination of the "Continental" Of course you knew that this what they meant to do since you're…

RachelSNO, you are a troll...you specifically came into a CrossFit group board for the purpose of trolling and then were advised to leave (and blocked since you were just looking to annoy people). Since then you've decided to throw your two cents at anyone that will listen on the general forums....fine, but you really need…
-
Did you even read the summary of the video where they mention that it isn't a standard clean and jerk...?
-
Yo...
-
Bump...
-
I'd be up for it as a closed group.

CrossFit Lisbeth is full of great articles. Here is one that I got from the CF Games facebook page http://oldcountrystrong.wordpress.com/2011/12/08/the-flower-that-blooms-in-adversity-is-the-most-rare-and-beautiful-of-all/

Heck yea! Great job! Top 6 is pretty sweet performance, good luck with future competitions. I can't wait to get to try competing.

Looking awesome and sounds like doing a lot better for yourself! Keep it up!

EatSmart makes a quality product and has great customer service. I knew someone that had one and had tried the scale quite a few times. It used to calibrate before each reading, but the newer model now doesn't need to do that each time it wakes up. As for the the customer service, I was there when that older scale…

So on my list...if I could just get the transition...

Don't be scared, it is a great step! Videos are great, but there is something to be said for getting some assistance every now and then. If you have any friends that lift you might consider getting their help every so often to look at your form or someone from your gym (like a personal trainer). Once you get the form down…
-
As people have suggested negatives, rows, and band assisted. Also are you currently able to do any pullups? If so just try knocking out more sets of pullups during that day...

Good luck and have a great time at the competition! I'm thinking I might do the open part of the CrossFit games, but I'm not sure I stand a chance at Regional's (even just getting that far would be baller!). Although one of the members of my box is getting ready to open a new box...there is already talk of a friendly…

That seems pretty likely...I think she is just worried about things being "too good"
