DC Area Singles
Figured I'd branch off from the singles thread and provide one specifically for the DC metro area (or as the census considers it the DC/Baltimore area....feel free to go as far out as you'd like). So without further delay, area singles where ya at?!

Goals/Frustrations
I know I'm not alone in having skills, elements, etc that I'd like to be able to add to what I can do, be better at, be stronger, etc. A great example for me would be muscle ups, I can kip a bar muscle up although it could definitely be better...I'd really like to be able to get muscle ups on rings along with being able to…

CrossFit for Hope
Who's in? I'm doing it! Cool thing is for the DC area there is a Mid-Atlantic event!

Open address
Reposted with permission from the facebook of the TheCrossFitter: "An open address to women (and anyone else who cares) Dear The World, This is what 150lbs looks like on a woman who is just shy of 5' 5". 150lbs is not fat. Stop thinking it is. Gaining weight isn't always bad (in fact you can lose inches while you do.)…

CrossFit Games
Anyone thinking of doing the Open? I'm thinking of possibly creating a group for it...or we could do it through here...

Equipment
So I'm thinking of picking up a jump rope (or two) of my own to practice when I'm not at my box (and possibly to take with me to the box)...but I could use suggestions for quality jump ropes. Any and all input would be great!

Box talk
So what box do you belong to? Any of you belong to a CrossFit with a claim to fame or maybe you have some smack to talk about a rival box. I belong to CFSA (CrossFit South Arlington [Arlington, VA]) and one of our members is getting ready to open another box near Ballston.

CrossFit journals or other bits of wisdom!
It is easy to think CrossFit is just physical, so I thought I'd start this thread off with some articles that go into the mental/social aspects. When it gets rough, dig deeper and encourage others...you'll be surprised with how much easier the workout gets when you do that, now go rock it out!…

Skills, Movements, or lifts you are still working on
For me I still have work to do on my double unders and I haven't yet been able to do a muscle up. I'd like to be able to do handstands without being against the wall. Last but not least, a bunch of my lifts aren't so pretty...my deadlift definitely needs work and my overhead squat is the worst of my squats. So what about…

Mid-Atlantic Hopper
http://www.midatlantichopper.com/ Nov 12-13 there is a hopper going on near BWI. I figure this is as good a place for people to give the word about who is going and smack talk if need be. Who's box is representing? Who's going and who is competing? I might try to stop by, but I don't think my schedule has the room to make…

RevAbs
I've seen a lot of folks talking about BeachBody products and I was curious if anyone has tried RevAbs (heck I'm also curious about Hip Hop Abs). If you have done RevAbs what did you think of the program and what gear did you need for it (like how many weights or anything)? Thanks!

Protein/Creatine/Shakeology/Etc
So I'm debating what, if any, kinds of supplying I want to do in assisting my intake (aka diet/nutrition). My main race for the year is a marathon, but I've also been working to try and gain strength. I'm looking for thoughts and opinions on what people use/like and what people have noticed from what they've tried. Thanks

DC Metro Dash July 9th
Hi All, We had developed a MFP team for the Metro Dash in Washington, DC on July 9th (http://www.metrodash.com/washington-dc/). Our race time is 4pm since all of the elite times were the ones left in the morning, and we aren't an elite team, that's for sure. One of our team members won't be able to do it now, so we are…

Suspension trainers & slackline
So kind of two different subjects, but here goes. Anybody have input on suspension trainers (TRX/USA/etc) or about getting into slacklining?

New Guy
Guess I'll get around to introducing myself. I got dragged on to here...errr suggested I check out the site. I'm 5'9.5 currently usually just a smidge under 160 and I've recently been seeing like 10.5% body fat. My goal is to rock the races I get involved in, get in better shape (like low body fat, gain some muscle, etc),…

What races are people thinking about or signed up for?
I'm doing the Marine Corp Marathon (MCM) this year, it'll be my first marathon (I once did a half-marathon, but I could really use a better finish time). I'm planning to do the Army Ten Miler again (this will be the third year in a row), Navy Five Miler, and I'm thinking I'll sign up for the Metro Dash. I need to see about…
