  • I live in Arlington, VA and work in Falls Church, VA currently. So I'm just right outside DC
  • In VA there is also Urban Evolution which does a lot of Parkour and obstacle training (also a few other place, but that's probably the main one)...there are a ton of folks that go to regionals for American Ninja Warrior from around the DC metro area...
  • I just wish I'd done better in my region, but awesome! Great work ladies
  • There is already a time on the leaderboard that is just shy of an hour and a half...

  • Anybody watch this week's Instagram clip yet?

  • Yeah, let's skip SDHPs...I like my shoulders and such

  • Open is always some version of an AMRAP, so I doubt it'd be anything that could end...

  • 94 which is 4 reps into the round of 275 deadlifts

  • Some advice for this "Don't be dumb". Even if you are thinking you'd make it to regionals or something remember you still need to be well enough to do two more workouts!

  • 81 on my better run...tried to redo it and hoped to make it to the third round and only got to 79...blast

  • 14.1 take 2...174. Much better! Still issues with DUs, but an improvement

  • 117...kinda displeased, debating doing it again but not really sure I'd fair better with the DUs...

  • I'm in it for the third year in a row
  • Spend the time on mobility! It'll definitely payoff with everything else. If you can't hit the positions you need with proper technique it'll be hard to keep going. Becoming the Supple Leopard has some good information and will give you a lot of options for things you can do with just a couple of tools
  • Overall I think it goes to the fact that people do dumb things in regards to decisions about which pictures are used, the captions to go with them, and the comments made by folks. In short we can only hope that someday people can keep it classy!
  • Considering last night I posted back to back on facebook that the CrossFit open is happening soon and that I had gotten the ribbon in League of Legends for teamwork honor...yeah!
  • Start with 9. I'd almost suggest even going to 8 since that is just the movie, but there isn't much there and it'd probably be more confusing than anything. Although after while I'm sure you could circle back around it'd be fine
  • Are you doing the Gymnastics Cert at Impavidus? I know at least a couple people doing that one (and a few people at that affiliate). Also I'm thinking once I finish paying off student loan debt I'll see about getting my L1 and start getting certs (plus I'll have saving well setup).
  • For gymnastics skills might I suggest checking out gymnastics WOD along with the CrossFit journal. It at least can help with a little bit towards understanding the skill (especially with some progressions).
  • Not sure I've ever posted to this. I guess something I can say for this week is that Fran was the workout Monday night and this time around I did it Rx'ed which I hadn't before. Finished in 7:42.
  • Run (just for races), parkour, and climbing
  • My box goes over rope climbs every so often, but it isn't specifically something that gets done with on-ramping or starting out (although there is now starting to be a lot of work on the scaled option...so sorta). Often when there is instruction on the foot clamp there will also be a lot of practice time on the foot clamp.…
  • Thanks for finding the excellent gif for this! Also I'm enjoying the fact that she created the group and even folks that aren't CrossFitters are trolling that group (and trolling it hard!)
  • What is it they say haters do...?
  • You could see about more supportive shoes for run heavy workouts...for lifting you want to have something solid to stand on.
  • I switched from VFFs to Inov-8 195's early this year and I have to say the rope protect is pretty good (although the sole could use a little bit of reinforcement because I've managed to do enough rope climbs that you can tell which shoe usually is on top of the rope...but I also have used them for A LOT of rope…
  • I'm just gonna put this idea out there for ya....Farmer's Carries (and heavy)
  • Man, haters gonna hate (and often bring up rhabdo....)
  • Yes, taking my shirt off does make me go faster, do better, etc
  • Just saw this topic, I'm a bad admin >_<;;; The boards here are fairly relaxed, so if you check the group every so often you'd be good to go. Just a matter of taking a look at any "reports" about posts (most of which aren't an actual issue). Feel free to PM me and we can discuss adding additional mods with XFitMojoMom…
