Frankly it does kinda sound like you are looking for if you can be mad at him. If he did notice he probably doesn't want to make you feel worse...you probably asked in a way indicating you don't like the weight gain and if he cares he isn't going to notice. Anyways, he cares about you so he isn't going to notice/care about…

Yea, most gyms you go in and do your workout...CrossFit you go in and workout with your gym! =D

I think it just is tempted to talk smack on her since it is an outsider that people listen to...and only coming to CF via a challenge

If only girls didn't just creep on me ;)

A couple things I'd suggest...work on squats, deadlifts, and rows. Also check out rowing (like using an erg aka rowing machine), swimming (great for the whole body), or rock climbing (great for the whole body and just an awesome activity).

If you'd like feel free to friend me, although I'm not sure how much helped I'd be about what to eat since you are a vegetarian...

So the dork that I am I think I finally have gotten a mental idea of the timing for double unders...but I'm no closer to actually doing them. Basically I just realized that if I think of the jump as a 4 part movement top of the jump, on the ground, and the two inbetweens...instead of on the ground and in the air than at…

Maybe we'll be seeing people at Regionals!

I think it has to do with the fact that when it comes down to it CrossFit isn't just a workout, but a community. Plus when you add on that we have a bit of our only language...sometimes people misunderstand us, but hey we're a healthy cult!

For me the clean is what I feel is most limiting my snatch...as in I have one problem that impacts both. For me, I run into problems with the bending my elbows before the bar enters the weightless part of the move. There probably is more that I could work to improve, but I know when that is where I hit the wall as I try…

So kind of more funny than wisdom...so last night I was at my box and heard the reason that the named workouts are girls is cause "they'll put you on your back" or something like that. Anybody else heard any funny quotes about the naming conventions?

Glucosamine or Glucosamine Chondroitin can be useful for some folks. Back when I started running on my own (during college) I used to take some as I got towards longer runs. For me it helped most if I had been taking it in series (like starting before longer runs) than when I took it just day of or after a long run. If you…

So many reasons Sometimes you're just tired of not having companionship Getting suck having to figure out who you want to go do things with

I usually just run near me, but hikingwise I have to agree Great Falls (on both the VA and MD side) is pretty sweet. I have been meaning to check out Rock Creek park now that I've grown through it a bunch....

Bikalas are designed with a focus towards running. Komodosports are meant as a general crosstrainer. KSOs are the most minimalist...for me I noticed the KSOs wear out pretty quick. I do enjoy my VFFs!

I'm Maxwell, so far I've done 3 Ten Milers, 2 Half Marathons, and a full marathon (MCM). I'm debating what I want to do for future goals.

There isn't really a great way to merge groups...or delete them. The two other DC metro area groups were made as one towards racing and one just towards general fitness....
-
Hrm...I'd have to get around to getting my records from my notebook at my box.

I guess I might as well introduce myself. I'm Maxwell and I live in Arlington, VA. I'm 26 and am a government contractor. I am CrossFitter and I'm not really looking to lose weight as much as gain muscle (don't mind losing body fat).
-
I can stay with both as long as you are okay with that. I added to links to free CrossFit Journal articles.

There are a couple DC Metro area groups... For racers http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/107-dc-area-mfp-racers DC area general http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/108-dc-district-fitness

I could be a backup if you want

Chuck Norris CAN slam a revolving door!

Heck yea! CrossFit for the win. It keeps things varied, makes sure you are ever improving. A good box is all about the community and it'll really encourage you to push yourself while at the same time making sure that you do things with proper form (and try to avoid hurting yourself).
-
Awwww glad you had such an awesome start to your day!
-
It shows good community for gym or fitness club to have a way to give people props! Rock on for being featured as an example to the external community!

Yoga is totally cool for guys to do. Heck my CrossFit gym has a yoga class. I sometimes do Yoga, and frankly wish I made it a more regular practice. I wouldn't mind more of the benefits it provides for balance, flexibility, and centered-ness.

Five Fingers are rather comfy. I'd suggest you also look into either ChiRunning or Pose Running to provide guidance on form

Hate to break it to you, but guys too face stereotypes and roles that we are expected to feel. Gender norms tend to suck...
