Have literally spent the last ten minutes looking for my onion. The "new" recipe builder they're forcing us to use is crap and entries I use every day are missing. BRING BACK THE ONION AND BRING BACK THE OLD RECIPE BUILDER. Was about to try and add olive oil to my recipe but then i re-read the OP... This whole operation…

Went out last night for W9D3 but decided to see how far I could go rather than time (disappointing mistake). I ran for 28 minutes and covered 3.4k. I left the app on to see just how much further it would be to go the full 5k... Well - it's far, very far! I think I'm gonna ignore distance for now and move straight on to a…

W9D2 done. Still nowhere near 5k as I run super slow to ensure I finish in time. Ive downloaded all of the run double apps so will probably start the 5k improver after the last run. Once I can actually run 5k I'll move on to 10k... (never thought I'd be saying this).

Back on track! I had a couple of weeks off as I had some personal "stuff" going on and then went on vacation for 5 days. I really struggled to get motivated. Forced myself out last night after reading an article about that girl who has just run a ridiculous number of back-to-back marathons... So... W9D1 is done. I'm amazed…

W8D3 done... On to week 9...!

W8D2 was finally completed on Monday (took a few attempts to complete, as did D1). I went slower than slow but at least it is done! I think i've identified a flatter route so i'll try that later for D3...

People are noticing now... 20lbs down. A few people noticed sooner, mostly because the first place I lost it was my face. I'm still wearing the same clothes so once I go down a size (almost there!), I'm sure there will be yet more comments. I must say I'm surprised (and disappointed) with how long it is taking to drop a…

Saving for later...

LOVE sweet potatoes - I never eat them as a dessert though (I think that's an "only in America" thing). Super lazy: Mircowave for 8-10 mins & serve with cream cheese or sour cream etc. Quick and easy for lunch or dinner. Also sweet potato fries or wedges (baked), sweet potato and roasted red pepper soup, add them to…

W8D1 complete and it was actually a relative success which is thankful, as I was starting to lose hope... I was feeling tired and ravenous yesterday so decided to eat at maintenance. Steak and chips (fries) for dinner revived me and I felt great on most of my run. Unfortunately I got a stitch at 26mins 54secs and I…

W7D3 finally done. Has taken about 3 attempts... Week 7 has been a real struggle for me. I was going as slow as I could today (7:53 min per km) and I couldn't have gone a minute longer. I think the route I run is possibly too challenging (hilly), but don't have many alternatives so will persevere! I'll try the running…

W7D2 done... went much better than day 1's attempts but of course it was still a challenge. Will probably do day 3 tomorrow and then take the weekend off. We shall see.

Thanks for the links by the way. Some useful tips in there. My breathing is usually ok but yesterday it was so hot and the air was thick (if thats makes sense), I think I was almost panicking. It all went downhill from there. I got a mild stitch today but that was 2 minutes from the end of the run so I pushed through...

Phew. W7D1 done. The last 2 minutes were a battle. My GPS didnt work so unfortunately no idea what my speed was...

Gah! I'm really struggling at the moment! Tried W7D1 two days ago. I got just past halfway, tried to skip a song, ended up turning my volume off, then my phone froze so had to stop for a few seconds to deal with that. Stopping threw me off completely (and made me really angry). I carried on but only managed 22 minutes…

W6D3 done...! It was actually ok and I probably could've carried on a little longer, but I didn't... 9 runs left!
-
W6D2 done. I won't pretend it was easy. That last ten minutes seemed to drag on forever!! I'm surprised how much week 6 has challenged me as I sailed through week 5 with relative ease... Straight runs only from here on...!
-
W6D2 failed. Stopped 8 mins into the second run - i think i was going too fast... Will try again tomorrow! :grumble:

W6D1 done. Found it harder than W5D3! It was really humid and my brain was talking me out of it. I walked the last 15 seconds of my last run. Hopefully W6D2 will be better!

It can be done! :) I really, really struggled through Week 4 - I did 5 sessions and then moved on to Week 5 even though I wasn't convinced I was ready. August 9 W5D1 - I was puffed out by the end of the last 5 minutes session but made it the whole way through. August 10 W5D2 - was completely stunned that I finished both 8…

Week 4 is kicking my butt  I tried it a couple of days ago on a day I wasn't due to run - I just did the first 3/5 min runs to see if I could do it. Completed the first set then retired with a huge stitch. Went to the track yesterday to try W4D1 and didn't complete. I had to quit half way through the last 5 minute…

Nothing awkward about poop! I can't speak highly enough of the virtues of fibre. I eat a LOT of veg and grains to stay regular. My failsafe poop foods are are lentils, roasted onions and bell peppers, beetroot, sweet potato, peas, sweetcorn, beans. I try to eat generous portions of bulk. I don't eat much meat. A 3 bean…

So, following on from my initial post... 2 days after posting the pain had subsided so I headed out for C25K Week 2 Day 2. I completed the session but halfway through the hip pain came back and has been with me ever since... I was running on a slight incline, down hill on the way, uphill on the way back. I haven't done any…

Thanks for all the suggestions! I shall try and get my Myrtle on tonight...

I believe it's something to do with the bromelain... Apparently cooking breaks it down(?), hence canned and cooked I can tolerate. I've only noticed the reaction in the last couple of years. I usually have no time for people who claim they can't eat this, that or the other because of their "intolerance" but the…

The only thing I ever truly crave is red meat. I eat very little meat but every couple of months or so, I hear the call of the cow. I'm not sure if that's a lack of iron thing or just a sign that I need a tasty steak, but when I hear the call I answer it. I can't imagine trying to satisfy the meat cry with anything else...

I'm the same. I need an absolute minimum of 1400 to guarantee a daily poop and I must have fibre/bulk. Too much protein also stops the train for me, as does too much junk/processed food. Fibre is the way forward. Constipation, however mild, puts me in a bad mood.

Once a day keeps me happy. If I'm lucky I might go twice. I find I need quite a lot of "bulk" to keep things regular and the best foods for me are Weetabix, lentils, beetroot, roasted peppers & onions, sweet corn, peas, sweet potatoes and beans. I try to eat at least one of these a day. If I overdose on nuts that usually…
