It is very important. it takes a shoe over 24 hours to "bounce back" from a run. Plus, wearing a different shoe makes your foot work differently and that can help prevent injury. I keep 3 in rotation: Brooks Glycerin, Brooks ghost, and Asics Gel Cumulus

No running doesn't ruin your knees, being overweight does. I run almost everyday and my knees are fine. They used to hurt a lot more when I was heavier. Get the right shoes and in the beginning take a lot of walk breaks. Doing too much too soon gets you injured.

I use Moving Comfort's Fiona Bra. I run almost everyday and this bra never fails. I own 5 of the Moving comfort bra. I still have not found a bra as good as this one. Try it on then jump up and down, seriously. Champion bras I found are terrible. Any bra you have to put over your head is awful. I have read that Enell makes…

Take shorter strides and slow it down a little. I call it low gear. Plus I talk to myself the whole time up. There is a time and place for running up hills fast and it really helps improve your running. But during a normal run, this is how I would attack it.

Don't beat yourself up. The good thing is you don't have too much to lose. 158 isn't heavy.
