Running - Q for those of you who train for fulls/halfs

Hi There - I am in week three of training for my first full marathon. I have joined a running clinic so have a schedule for running (presently 5 times per week of varying distances - at about 40 km per week now).

I was wondering, when you have trained in the past, do you notice a bit more belly/hip "fat" (for lack of a better word) or puffiness? I have upped my water intake a lot to stay hidrated and I am also eating more carbs to get some fuel stores - but I am still logging everything. Is this normal?

I am also of that "special" age where I am thinking I am entering pre-menoposal. So could that have something to do with it. I am very careful with what I eat - I want to have a good finish so I am trying to really fuel my body with good foods.

Any tips, advice from the "experts" is greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much in advance. fitcanuck

hmmmmm, I think those areas have always been where I store fat...just my body type. Running and eating well has helped me reduce those areas. Do you think maybe having more shape in your legs is making you notice that particular area more?

During my training for my half last fall, I didn't lose a whole lot of weight.
