I live in Northern Ontario - on Superior's north shore. We had cold, then holy snow! and then bitter cold. It has warmed ip 10 degrees today. Still cold, but more tolerable. That is a crap load of snow in less than 24 hours! Whoa!

So bloody cold here. It was -50C with the windchill this morning. -40C without windchill. No workout yesterday, but I did make it to the gym today. :)

What a lovely picture! Congratulations to your daughter - that is quite an accomplishment!

Another lovely evening of snowshoeing! Lots of fresh snow and milder weather makes it a perfect workout for me!

Snowshoe in the frosty temperatures yesterday. It was cold out, but I warmed up quickly on the hike. Here a couple of pictures from the beautiful hike we did yesterday.

Bitter cold temperatures here. We have been in the -30s and -40s since Thursday night. Yesterday's high was -28C (18F below). Because it was nice and sunny and no wind in the bush, we went out snowshoeing yesterday. It was a frosty hike - any exposed hair and my eyelashes frosted up, but otherwise I was toasty warm. Here a…

Happy Friday all. No workout for me last night - hosted bridge so was busy prepping (cleaning the bathroom, vacuuming, setting the table, carrying in wood) . It is going to be a cold weekend, but am still hoping to get out on my snowshoes.

Don't be afraid, you are fit and strong - you will still be amazing at 50. I was at my fittest and looked my best at 50.

Good Morning all. Got a couple of great workouts in last night. 45 min of Full body blast followed by 30 min of pump. Thought the full body blast was going to do me in

No snowshoe yesterday. Went to exercise classes. 20/20/20 Class, followed by an hour of yoga. :)

-
@AliNouveau - there is a documentary on CBC (tomorrow) about a group of women ages 40+ to 70+ that are figure skaters and are headed to the Worlds! It is called "To the Worlds". I thought of you and your friends immediately. :)
-
Indoor classes last night - body blast followed by a wonderful hour of yoga. Water intake and food choices were good yesterday as well.

what are "sand bag get ups"? Can't imagine anything about you is "weak". :astonished:

We got our snowshoe in again last night. It was such a beautiful night. However, temps are supposed to drastically drop tonight for the next week, so my trekking may be put on hold. Although you are always moving, my hands / feet can get quite cold when the temperatures drop. Eating was a bit of a disaster yesterday.…

Had another great snowshoe last night, but then ate those calories back and more. Ugh. Thank goodness, today is a new day.
-
Hi all. Another snowshoe hike on Sunday. It was a little gentler, but still worked up a sweat! :)
-
No, have not found anyone to help us with skating. The young lady I wanted to ask is about to have a baby any day. :(
-
Another lovely snowshoe again yesterday! Am loving it. :)
-
Skating last night with my granddaughter. She improves every week and she just loves it. :) Great snowshoe hike today. Did one that had a lot of climbing.
-
5.25 km snowshoe today. Cold but great! Lots of climbing. :)
-
Sounds interesting! 100 miles in 28 days - very doable! :)

My apologies, I lost this thread. So, yes, they do tell them this beforehand, and it was a question I asked as well. The thought behind still going through with the surgery is the trajectory of weight gain is stalled. For example, if someone weighs 300lbs and is having difficulty moving and is now a diabetic, chances are…
