Got a bunch. Current favorite is the Emily Dickinson portrait I got a few weeks ago. A bunch visible here, after my hair stylist friend begged to dye my underarm hair blue. =P Heart eyes for Emily forever.

Ok I got a big hint on yours lol 29 / married / NAVY =)

I'd love to mentor 1 person, preferably female. I'm a 28-year-old mom of 1 and special education teacher / aerial enthusiast. Fitness journey started during my pregnancy - lost 30 lbs and 3 sizes post-partum and am now in maintenance mode. Big advocate of strength training for weight loss and fitness - calisthenics, aerial…

@mhankosk Lots of people/places, but this was particularly convincing to me... http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/Azdak/view/hrms-cannot-count-calories-during-strength-training-17698

I'm just now re-discovering how filling roasted potatoes and sweet potatoes are for the amount of calories. SO GOOD. I just a made a big batch by tossing them in coconut oil and a bunch of spices and baking them for like 25 mins on 375.
-
@ljones27uk Awesome! Yeah I'm trying to wrap my head around the calorie allowance and not use it as an excuse to eat unhealthy stuff. I had a bit of a celebratory cheat day yesterday but I'm back on track today. Mahi mahi and roasted sweet potatoes for lunch. Yum!

@RaspberryTickleChicken Thanks! I'm excited but nervous about trying to let go of the "I need to lose" mentality. And thanks for the ink compliment! I started getting them when I was 18 but my husband is now apprenticing to tattoo so I've been really growing the collection recently. =)

@loveandchampagne I do incorporate yoga and contortion into my routine, but mostly on my own as the warm up or cool down to my aerial workouts. It's mostly a means to an end for me of more flexibility so I can do cooler trapeze tricks lol. I have trouble not getting bored with yoga otherwise. But I do love to be bendy!

Motha-f%&*ing steamed cauliflower. And shredded parmesan. You can eat a gigantic bowl full for like 100 calories.

I'm the same height and struggling to figure out what a healthy and reasonable goal weight is. So i'm curious - is that an arbitrary range that you picked, or has it been recommended to you? Have you ever weighed that little before, and if so how did you feel? The only time I can remember being in the 130's was like 10th…

Feel free to add me! It's Mardi Gras season here in New Orleans, so be forewarned...there's a lot of king cake entries lol

The world could spin off it's axis if you didn't have rice with curry
Wow, guys, was it really worth the effort it took to type those sarcastic comments on a post that was simply trying to share something I found to be helpful? Be sure to log it! "Sarcasm-moderate effort. 50 calories"

I leave an laughable remnant of Ben and Jerry's Americone Dream in the cup just so I can tell myself I didn't eat the whole pint.

My children were 10, 12 and 11 days overdue, I'd have had to find a lot of distracting, fun things :) Actually, first time round was fine, I just met friends a lot, second and third times were harder as I had my child(ren) already to look after.
Oh dang girl, I would have been SO over it too lol
-
Congrats! That's a great feeling. I love it when the clothes start to fit differently. =)

So true! I fight the mental game a lot too, when I feel like I haven't "lost" that much. But then I knock out 3 pull-ups when I before I couldn't even do 3 push-ups, and I know there's a lot of fat --> muscle action happening.
-
You look fab, all bump! I didn't look that cheerful the day before labour lol, mainly because I was so overdue and fed up!
Thanks! That day was my actual due date so I wanted to do something fun to distract myself. It's a good policy that I highly recommend. =)
-
Oh boy. I had a similar thing happen last Thursday and I'm hoping not to see a rebound lol. I lost 4 lbs and put myself within 3 lbs of my goal. I took a good couple days to return to my normal eating habits, though, because I was scared of feeling nauseous and throwing up again. No fun.
-
Just for the lolz, here's a picture I found of me the day before I went into labor, in 50's greaser drag for a friend's party. Starting weight pre-pregnancy was about 160. Gained about 25 lbs throughout pregnancy and lost it all within 3 months PPD. Then kept losing to get to my current weight, 143.

You were an adorable preggo! And congrats on that 5k, that's awesome!
-
You look amazing!! Thanks for the inspiration. =)

Oh my gosh, that's so great to hear! Definitely the experience I'm hoping to have. I had a pretty great pregnancy first time around, but I was at my highest weight ever when I got pregnant and now I'm at my lowest. Definitely gonna be that pregnant lady everyone loves/hates lifting and cycling at the gym lol Congrats on…

So true...I have a little loose belly skin from my pregnancy that is noticeable if I'm doing planks or push-ups or bending over, but oddly it doesn't bother me at all. I think it's because I know there's really and truly nothing I can do about it, so I've just kind of said "Ok whatever then." But the backside still bothers…

I lifted heavy consistently this summer when I was off of school (I'm a special ed teacher) but let it go to the wayside this fall because I only have so much exercise time and aerial is more important to me. But with our new childcare schedule I can swing by the gym on my way home and knock out some sets, so I'm ready to…

Although New Orleans doesn't get very cold, not having central heat means that the rare chilly days in the 30's equals freeeeeezing living room even with the space heater on full blast. All last week my primary motivation for doing my Insanity videos was to get warm lol

Feel free to add me! Fellow mom. MFP is a great community and you'll find lots of support here. =)
-
Ooooh, nice one. I hadn't thought of that, but I could do a few rounds in the building where I work each day before leaving. Thanks!
-
That is one smokin' little black dress. Congratulations!!

Holy crap, that's so inspiring! You look incredibly strong and confident. You go girl!!
