I always listen to podcast whenever I walk or run and that takes my mind off anything. :) there are lots of apps to download them and there are thousands to choose from. I really like Criminal, they're anywhere from 14 to 30 min long and each show has a new story/topic about something "criminal".

I LOVE watching my 600 lb life! It drives me nuts though when the people think the surgery will do everything for them and they don't have to make an effort. I wish in one episode Dr. N would have the person lose 50 lbs (like usual) for the surgery but then say another 50, and another and so on. I yell at the screen a lot…

@Leverfam I don't know if I can agree with that. I make healthy choices to keep my weight down. Isn't it fair to say the opposite with obese and overweight individuals? Even if the choices are unconscious ones? Obviously no one WANTS to be overweight but it's it's a choice that I think is made up of daily choices over time.

I know it's the mentality of dropping your phone and you think: may as well just smash it now!

I have no idea. I feel like as long as I can prove I'm a member each month that they should be able to give me 25 dollars a month, but maybe that's wishful thinking hahaha.

If healthy weight people were to get discounts wouldn't that almost be the same as the rest having to pay more? It's just worded differently but essentially the same thing. My health insurance also pays for part of a gym membership, but which gyms they do this for is very selective and often times not worth the 30+min…

I think in other countries (my observations) that people are more physically active throughtout life and this helps with mobility as they age. I've seen 80 year olds on bikes or out for a walk with their walker in the park. I feel that in America the majority of older Americans aren't doing these types of activities and…

Just curious if you feel the same way about smokers as well!
-
One of the cons is that employers could say they don't want to hire people based on weight because of health insurance costs. Many employers do this with smokers already though.

People are just too used to seeing/being overweight. You do you and if someone asks and you don't feel up to telling them to mind their own business you can always say: until I feel at my best. Or something along those lines, they shouldn't have too much negative to say to that! And if they do, oh well, we all know those…

Not running related but criminal is great! Each week there's a new "criminal" topic. They always keep it interesting and a lot of the time it's funny/educational. Episodes range from 15-30 minutes usually :)

I forgot what it's called but I've found it by the running shoes at sports stores. I think it's called body glide? Anyways, I chafe under my sports bra sometimes if it's really hot and this stuff is like a deodorant thing that you rub on before your run. It's a life saver! Until the chafing stops I would recommend it :)

http://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/neurology_neurosurgery/centers_clinics/epilepsy/adult/adult-epilepsy-diet-center/ LCHF diets have been used for some cases of epilepsy for quite a while. Maybe Google before being snarky next time :)

I eat between 1700 to 2200 depending if I work that day or not (active job). I aim for 80 to 100g of protein but have fallen off the band wagon since last week. Back on it though! :)
-
The latter! :/

So just hang in there doing what I'm doing for longer or...?

5'6 and 121. Does that sound overweight to you?[/quote] No need to get angry, it was a legitimate question as you didnt address it in your OP. I would still suggest getting with a dietician to discuss what to eat to keep your blood sugar levels stable while you work on lowering your A1C.
-
Stop making excuses and feeling sorry for yourself! Giving up right now is not going to get you anywhere. Diabetes isn't just not being able to eat what you want, it's serious and I feel like you are not aware of all the possible complications. I would talk to your doctor about meeting with a dietician. Many Americans…

I second the whiskey river bbq! I get the sweet potato fries with the garlic aioli :)

A lot. I have a pretty active lifestyle and job so I eat around 2000. This is what I have on a typical work day: 10 am smoothie or oatmeal. Eggs on my days off. 1130 am a snack like cashews or banana or baby bell, sometimes all three 1 pm lunch! Usually chicken or tofu with broccoli and some kind of grain. Sometimes I'll…

I don't care if people want to be happy with their body size as long as they realize being fat at 70 isn't the same as 30 or 40. I work in a hospital and if you are fat and make it to 70 chances are you are going to have to have a bed side commode (potty next to the bed) and have me wipe your butt because your little…

I've worn mine every day since I got it over two years ago but I know plenty of people that bought them and barely use them. I guess it's kind of like wearing the same watch for two years everyday and finally they make a new prettier version. Maybe not the most practical but a girl can dream, right? ;)

Late to the party! There's a charge 2 and new flex coming out! :) I don't care too much for the Flex since it doesn't have a display where I can see my steps but the waterproof feature would be nice as I'm terrified to run with my charge hr in the rain.
-
I'm in the same boat, I've had my charge hr two years in june and I'm trying to debate whether or not to get the new one. I'll probably wait for more reviews about the new features to see if it's worth it but it has me sold on how much more attractive it looks!

I'm 5'4 and started at 130 and now 115 ish, trying to lose some fat and gain muscle now. You can do it! I ate around 1200 to 1400 while I was losing and although it didn't come off fast it seems like it looking back. Stick with it and don't throw all your progress away if you over eat one time. That's like dropping your…

As long as one roll is over some skin use it. This is a common place to get infections like you had because it's a dark moist place in there! If you happen to get a sore that will set you back big time. Use it until your roll isn't touching the other part... if you get what I mean? Hard to describe. Great job on the weight…

I think if ANYTHING they can make you super tired and not want to do much in that way, hahaha. If that's the case I really get where you're coming from, it's hard to excersize if you're napping! If they don't make you tired then I don't see the problem! Try allegra, that's always worked for me without the side effects of…

Hey everyone! 22 years old, in between my bachelor's and masters degree (physician assistant, whoo!). I'm currently maintaining weight cycling between 113 and 117 lbs.

I'll have to try both ways before I invest in a new blender. Thank you both :) I'm just really sick of feeling like a cow chewing in grass halfway through my smoothie haha
