  • I use a beanie sort of like the one last posted. Has a terry cloth band. Got it decades ago to protect my shaved head and received a bonus sweat band. If it gets too full I just wring it out and continue. Drier climate here though.
  • Lisa. Where and what type of bike riding?
  • Happy Birthday Carol!!! Kelly and I are still around, just busy. Lots of matches going on and other stuff now that I have my power back after a month. Yay!! Pretty much just going along, eating well. I still have not stepped on a scale since that challenge back in April?? Do not care much to either. Clothes fit fine, maybe…
  • John.. inspiring account.
  • I really do not miss those travelling days, and have probably thousands of miles walking in airports. MSP is the best for that as it is a big track and marked. I can do a lot in B Concourse in Denver. For many years I was home 1 day per week, so I know the laundry routine as well (still have it). Kelly and I did not do…
  • Carol - you never said what FB challenge.. Friend Kelly, she needs more friends! LOL John. Ok, not a FitBit user yet. I really want the Charge HR, as am an HR junkie. I also bike. After seeing the regular Charge over the Flex (Kelly's), now I know I will just skip the Flex. The Flex was perfect at the time for Kelly, and…
  • Heron, I will continue over here.. Kelly and I have been doing a LOT of gluten free Paleo baking using nut flours. Some of the stuff is so good we only make it every so often... There is plenty more that I need to try, including some Rhubarb ones since I love that plant, and I like it sour! I realize that not everyone does…
  • heron - sad but awesome! That is really tough work, been there done that too! Busy weekend scheduled. Kelly is shooting her first "match", which is put on by our club to let you try out some different styles of competition. There will be 3Gun, Defensive Pistol, Steel Challenge, and Cowboy Action. Kelly is going for…
  • MG!!! You need to catch up. There are 3 of us now in Helena (ok, I am in Wolf Creek, close enough). I have passing thoughts now and then of getting on a scale; happy just watching the size. Hand tilled the garden yesterday and I can feel it today. Getting close to a ramped up shooting season. I was looking at some…
  • Wow Hammer.. what a fantastic looking PPsH.. *envy* I was in Baghdad for a week in 2005 doing some contracting. Just chugging along. Kelly's youngest son ate all of the Pecan Butter Chocolate Cookies I had made this weekend for her (yes, those Paleo cookies), I just had to make some Pumpkin Chocolate Bars and make a trip…
  • I bought the M9 last year as I always wanted one. I shoot it pretty good, but the magazine release just does not work for me. Put about 5000 through it in a few months, tried different releases... nope, not going to work. Now sits as a house gun, and for use in Night matches. Fits Kelly perfect though, so I guess it has a…
  • Weekend was good. Thanks to Kelly for all the help in getting the house in top shape for a showing today. Took her out Saturday to work on some shooting (competition in mind). She is rocking a Beretta M9A1 pretty darn good, and yes, it fits her hands. Had her shoot my 1911 some too. Sadly, I broke my competition CZ 75B…
  • Getting easier to not think about the scale. Very interesting challenge Hammer.
  • Heron and Kris, you have to hang in there as I am hanging in there and commiserating with you both electronically.. oh that sounds bad... Heron, I am also not a big EDC bag kind of person, as I don't believe in off body carry. That said, I do have bags in each vehicle (backpacks and a tote). Those bags you are talking…
  • Kris, I take most things one day at a time these last few months, sometimes half days, others hours. You are giving me way too much credit. I just have to walk farther than Kelly does  The scale was seriously giving me mental issues anyway. The best part is when I make the 50 mile drive to town each Friday, Kelly IS…
  • Went for a hike yesterday, mud be damned. I needed it after a frustrating emergency customer call. Overall was not too bad, and I got really close to 4mph for the walk. Kelly is making me jealous with all her walking and blowing me out of the park! Still not happy with the time change as I really want to get walking in the…
  • I have thought about taking a look, but realized that my weight has most likely not changed so why bother :smiley Going to stick to measuring tape, yes I am. I hope.
  • I had a carb meal (ok two actually) this weekend, hash browns for breakfast and then Cafe Rio for lunch. Felt like a slug, and then DST hit.. Detest that DST thing. I hear Colorado has a bill to ban it as well.. Indiana was a State that did not do it as well, and then went on it in 2006 or so I believe. Scale is…
  • Scale is gone. Now Kelly can't weigh herself when she is here
  • Ok, don't laugh everyone. I was talking with my retired Exotic Dancer neighbour today, and her advice is to not use a scale; measure instead. This is particular to women. So that sure validated what Kelly has been seeing, and she agreed. You meet the strangest people out in the remote woods of Montana
  • Happy Friday everyone!! Today I get to run the 55 miles to town and get Kelly, who will probably now walk me into the dirt trail. Heck, she can walk a 15min/mile pace now (4mph). I am now thinking I do not want a Fitbit as I am positive I cannot handle the competition  Still debating on the scale challenge, mostly…
  • Would not be easy, but might just be the break that I need. Darn near addicted to that thing, and just can't knock it off. The question is how are you going to run it John?
  • Kris - Awesome!!! I really miss my mountain bike... in time. Heron - watching Kelly has taught me one thing, you can lose size (and fat), and the scale does not change. I forget that bit. So while I will complain that yes, I gained 2 pounds in the last month, I actually lost size. Call it wealth redistribution  I…
  • Where are the Carol wedding pictures that everyone is raving about? Kelly has lost a lot of weight these past few months, even more in sizes. Absolutely amazing the transformation, and she should tell you all about it. Really is a great story on good eating and getting moving. Kelly bought the Fitbit a few weeks ago…
  • Jen, I am asking about your training class you ran or were in a few weeks ago. You do look awesome in the dress
  • <sarcasm on> Oh, I am soooo offended that you would be talking about religion in a food and exercise group. Oh what will I ever do!! You should be ashamed... LMAO <sarcasm off> I like the purging idea, sadly I have been doing that almost nonstop for the last 4 months... Just could not resist, and I think Jen is rubbing off…
  • Happy Friday everybody! Weight is still holding steady. Yes, I wish it would move down, but steady is not bad either. Hopefully the ice will clear off the road/trails this week and even if muddy I can get walking. I try and not do that mountain hike too much even though I do love it. I have been experimenting a bit though.…
  • Dragging up a somewhat older thread. The question I have are the Plans, free or the Premium. Which do you use, and can I get enough out of it with the Free? I had a competitors band for quite a while, and you got nothing unless you were on a Plan. I won't even tell you how much that was costing me a month... :frowning: I…
  • Friday is here! Stressed out a few days this week and ate too much. Still Paleo, just too much of it. Weight was up 3 pounds this morning.. probably the 1/2 pound of bacon yesterday LOL!! Being stressed I did not do my hikes, which is like a double bad thing to do. Feeling much better today. Perhaps I should dance around…
