  • If you go again next weekend take pictures please. People don't believe me when i tell them how many calories you burn snow shoeing, it is amazing and the fresh air this tme of year where I live is amazing.
  • Get them altered! Huge motivator to stay and maintain. I did it a couple years ago, and for some reason it really helps when you make an additional investment in alterations. Good luck.
  • I dip celery and carrots in salsa all the time. It fills that crunch, salty, snack void for me.
  • You could always get them altered. I did that with a ton of clothes as an incentive to maintain, it really helped. I do have two pair of fat pants I only wear during TOM  We all have our quirks!
  • S&A is my favorite weight routine, and plyo rocks for cardio. I agree each workout works off of the last one to ease pain or make me focus on a new sore body part :) What do you think of Ab ripper? I have done a lot of ab routines over the years and this one hurts my back, but I still plug at it. Any thoughts?

  • Plyo is tough but my favorite. Make sure you are hydrated for that one. My husband and I are doing it together and I have to say it helps motivate me. When I first started there were many times I wanted to stop.

  • I am in phase 2 week 6. I can tell you I still find new things getting sore but it is amazing the transformation I am seeing. I am very impressed. I also found I have to eat more with this program, especially a couple days prior to the Plyo day that one is a killer! Good luck.

  • Thanks Jess for the great tips, I would be the one to skip the warm up and cool down which I know is not good. I did Core Synergistics today and I have to admit this is up there as a favorite. It goes so fast and I love the total body element. Absolutely great. Happy Holidays everyone!
  • I am doing Kenpo today I actually took yesterday off, Monday's are tough for me I prefer to sleep!
  • I'm in the same boat! Normally cookies don't do a thing for me but this time of year I can't walk past one without eating it. I don't weigh myself until after NY's and I work-out for an extra half hour every day to combat the festive treats. Enjoy, and good luck.
  • My hubby and I got into it last year. We had record snow falls in Wisconsin and found it fun and a great way to get fresh air too. I went yesterday and wore my hrm and in 60 minutes I burned over 500 calories. it is awesome! We walk on a golf course oddly enough but the hills make it a great work out. Best advice is to…
  • Rest week for me yoga and snow shoeing today. I had no idea an hour of snow shoeing could burn 500 calories, get fresh air in my lungs and be so fun!
  • Jackie's is great I love it. You can do parts of it or the whole thing. The legs work out is probably the best leg one I have come across. Good luck.
  • I started Am workouts about 2 years ago and it took about a month to adjust but after that I had so much more energy through out the day. I have a new job that involves a commute and I started working out after work and it just threw off my whole routine. I went back to mornings and even though that alarm clock comes…
  • Legs & Back & Ab ripper X all before 6:30 am! I am not looking forward to week 4, Yoga twice  I will be so bored! I am going to sneak some snow shoeing in, we have a ton of it here.
  • Cuddly I know your pain I am also 5 feet. Strength training is key, that really helped me, and being shorter in stature I noticed it right away. Good luck keep at it
  • Way to go Teach! I find those days I want to skip the most rewarding. Tired, busy, just feeling blah then you muster up the energy to work out and feel great! That is when you know you have crossed over and made a lifestyle change. P90X'rs question, I have a friend who used to work out regularly but really…
  • I love the active rest idea, I have a pretty sedentary job so I go crazy without some form of fitness in my day. I hope I don't get what's going around.
  • Do you actually take the rest day? I usually walk and do abs on my rest day.
  • I think the program is well worth the investment. I am not a gym person so it can be tough staying motivated. This series will motivate you. Any tips on how to not be so awkward for Kempo? Today was my 2nd time and I feel like a goof!
  • Jess you will have to let us know what you think of ChaLean's new series! I find her too perky but I am sure it is good.
  • I am well into week 2. Did legs, back, and abs today. The most suprising thing for me from this experience is the yoga. As much as I despise it I am already sitting straighter, walking taller, and feel it working muscles I didn't know I had. So I am trying to have an open mind about it. This series is great. My favorite is…
  • Thanks Craig! It really is a change of mindset for me. I was stuck in a rut where I did 45-60 minutes of cardio daily either spinning or running, abs, weights, and legs twice a week. I have never been good about taking days off so I am going to committ to that too. I have been sleeping like a rock so I know this change is…
  • I did Back and legs today and loved it. It is crazy how this all works I religiously did abs daily before and now that I am only doing AB Ripper 3X a week I feel it even more. I have done some of Tony's other series and really like how he builds on each one. I am a huge fan.
  • I could never get into Yoga or Pilates thanks for making me feel better about it teach. So far the Plyo was my favorite, still got several to go. I did go for a short run last night and will follow your advice. I will try the cardio x but know I won't do it all the time. I love to run and spin so I am glad it is ok to…
  • I make chicken tenders by dipping them in egg whites, and coating them with crumbled almonds, then bake them at 350 for aproximately 25 minutes. A little Asian spicy mustard mixed with regular mustard for dipping and they are YUMMY!
  • I found the Yoga boring, I know it is a necessary evil but what a snooze! 90 minutes is way too long.
  • My husband and I started P90x on Saturday and so far I am very impressed. You have to be in pretty decent shape to do this program so I am pleased I could keep up with the first three! Do any of you do supplemental cardio on weight days? I did the arms & shoulders this morning, and ab ripper and know I will want to go for…
  • I've been doing it for almost 3 years. I would actually call it a lifestyle change. I do eat some carbs but not a lot I try and get them from oats, and veggies (I am not a huge fruit fan). I try to eat carbs earlier in the day to fuel my work-outs. There are a ton of great cooking books I am a fan of South Beach, you can…
  • What a huge success!!! Congrats. Grad school was my least glamerous time in my life, so makes me nervous about the next step, but always thinking about it. People like you inspire me! Congrats and enjoy your holiday!
