That's not at all what I said. But if someone chooses to stick to their change - holiday or no - their action shouldn't be called 'sad' or anything else. But, opinions are like a-holes: Everyone has one, and they stink.

I started out at a 12 min mile and have gotten to an 8 minute mile. It's running either way; no need for people to be snobs about it!
-
You know what - congrats to you for deciding how you were going to eat your Thanksgiving dinner, even if other people are bothered by it for some reason. It's not 'sad' in the slightest.
-
Agreed! I don't understand why people 'pity' those who decide to stay within their calorie goals on holidays - I thought that was the whole point of weight-loss: To make a lifestyle change and stick to it. Personally, I find it easier to go over my calorie goal by a couple hundred calories once in a while rather than gorge…

Under my calorie goal for the day and exercised. I just don't care for the 'it's a holiday, so I'll eat whatever/not log' mentality.
-
I fit into S/XS scrub tops, depending on the manufacturer's vanity sizing.
-
I came out at 1112, plus about 200 calories in exercise.

I've got the 'Are you still on your diet?' several times and 'How much more weight are you going to lose?/Are you done losing weight?' I'm just honest when they ask: It's not a diet - it's a permanent change; and no, I'm not done losing weight, but it's not much now. Really, the only thing to do is to address the problem…

I've only ever had people say 'That's all you're going to eat?' or 'Look at you, being so good' when I refuse to eat sugary/fatty foods. I don't see the problem with someone commenting on your food - if you like it, eat it!

I see my exercise and diet changes as a permanent thing. There is no 'going back' to what I previously did. I will continue to weigh and log everything I eat to stay at my TDEE. I really don't see how it can be that hard to maintain if you stick to goals.
-
I plan to weigh and log everything, same as every other day. Being a holiday doesn't mean 'taking time off logging' to me. That's the mentality that leads to failure.
-
I'm planning on portion control and sticking to my calorie goal, as I do everyday. Just because it's a holiday doesn't make it okay to eat as much as I'd like.

So glad I don't have to deal with this problem.

Nothing.

Working out for sure.

I set myself to the IIFYM recommendations for my height/body fat % when I was about 20 lbs shy of my goal because I was stalling out at MFP's 1220 calories/day recommendation. I've found my weight loss results are far more accurate with IIFYM's calculator than with MFP's.

I have a low tolerance for caffeine, so I've never drank coffee except once or twice in my life.
-
I went to lie on my stomach one night and found I couldn't breathe properly. I signed up for MFP and started with the recommended daily calorie intake the next day and started running the day after that. I don't want to ever go back to the weight I was at. I didn't get out of breath going up the stairs or anything, but I…

I don't have cravings very often, but I do have some of whatever I'm craving when I do. It won't hurt your diet as long as you stay within your calorie goal.
-
I wear a pair of my husband's sweatpants and a t-shirt - works wonders.
-
I plan on continuing to use MFP because I haven't quite gotten the hang of eating enough per day without logging. Also, I know I'm going to have even more trouble once I have to up my calories to maintenance level. I'm not very active on the forums and don't interact with anyone here, so I don't think I'll be any more…

Well thank goodness I have no sexual desire anyway!

I weigh myself multiple times a day. I only log it the 15th of each month though.
-
I've run into the same problem more and more in the last couple weeks, especially with the scrub tops I have to wear for work. I've shopped the local thrift stores for clothes more in the last 5 months than I have in the last 5 years. Personally, I'm waiting until I hit my goal weight before I buy a completely new wardrobe…

I way myself multiple times a day out of curiosity about my daily fluctuation more than anything. I only log it the 15th of each month.
-
I've only gone over my TDEE once since I changed my diet in May. Other than that, if I go over my daily calorie goal one day, I don't cut back the next day. As long as there's a calorie deficit, you will lose weight.

If you are following MFP's recommendations, yes you're supposed to eat back those calories. MFP does NOT account for exercise calories. If you're following IIFYM recommendations, or TDEE guidelines, do NOT eat back those calories as both IIFYM and TDEE account for exercise levels.
