Non Scale Victory - like my old pants fit now. :)

I've lost an average human leg, fortunately, not mine, Thank God. I'm looking to lose the average meat an American eats in a year - interesting, since I'm trying to avoid meat and focus on fruit/veggies/nuts.

Eat them, eat whatever, log it, track it, weigh, track weight, observe results. I think, if I had logged all that beer, buffalo wings, donuts, pizza, bread, spagetti, chinese food ... mmm chinese food, rice, and had kept up with my weight on the scale ... I might have seen the upward trend line before it affected my health.

Since changing my lifestyle (aka dieting), I've gotten to where I really look forward to my breakfast of fruit. I normally eat a whole grapefruit, then add in 100g each of different berries - whatever I've picked from the berrie stand at the grocery store. I might add in an orange. I "cheat" and sweeten it up with a…

Wow. I'm not into guys, but you look awesome. Congratulations!

Added Fish Oil with Omega3.

I love dark beer. I've gone from 12 pack / week (sometimes 3-4 with Buffalo Wings (that's a different story)) to maybe 1/2 6 pack in a week. I typically only have one at a time - ie. 1 with my mexican weight watchers smart ones dinner. It's my "splurge" feel good, junk food - one beer. I'd rather have a good 100 Cal beer…

Antioxidants was the word. Free Radicals. And Higgs Boson's ... oh wait.

Hmm. So I can lose weight by sitting in a hot bath and sweating! Sweet!

Oh yeah ... pizza. And Donuts. Just say NO.

I do. I'm going to get flamed ... I've read a lot of posts about starvation mode, etc. I'VE TALKED TO MY DR. and had blood work done and got 2 1/4 checkups with bloodwork (diabetic) and am going back in 6mo. - I've lost 40lbs since Feb. - almost at short term goal of ~ 215 by end of June. Anyway, I set my calorie goal to…

Tortilla Chips in a Mexican/SW'tern restaurant (and salsa) and Mexican beer.

Congratulations! I'm also going for +100lbs. I'm interested to know how you feel different - changes in your body that you feel, or health - like knees for instance. :)

I've also started trying to understand food better - hence this website - and understand nutrition and the "macronutrients" - fat, protein, carbs, etc. But also there's "micronutrients" that aren't added to processed food that you can ONLY get by eating natural food - fruit, meat, vegetables, nuts, grains - usually they're…

Uh, did we have lunch together the other day? LOL. I used to do the 20 buffalo wing Atkins thing ... since changed my eating habits for the better and discovered that buffalo wings basically have 100 Cal. per wing!!! Not to mention the fat! Jeez. Yeah, no wonder I got to my heaviest ever. Look at it this way: Go buy a…

Started the 385mg Forskolin today.

Bit of advice I got - as soon as clothes get too big, or a little lose, GET RID OF THEM. Then, when your clothes get tight - REFUSE to go buy more until they're not tight.

I have my first skydive jump paid for and scheduled for June 25 - a Christmas gift when I was 265 lbs. I have to be <225 (with clothes)  by June 25. I'm 220 no clothes. :blushing: 227 with clothes. I'd like to be 220 with clothes by June 25!

So, in other words, some but not a lot of fruit and vegetables (cause you know, cave men didn't farm), with a lot of exercise (to forage for food because of the no farming thing) with minimal cooking? Water from the spring? Meat, once in a Paleolithic blue moon? No bread, pasta (because I don't think they milled grains).…

Awesome! Congratulations ... Slim.

Seems to me the easy answer it's for anyone who is concerned about their nutrition, weight, and fitness - whether they want to lose, maintain, or gain.

Started supplementing with Grape Seed Extract today. I'll post here if I notice anything "startling" besides -$25.

It would depend on how tight it got ... I'm down 40, and it's getting lose, but not resized yet. Guy with medium sized hands if that matters.

For me, being able to measure my progress really helps. This means LOG ALL THE FOOD. Also, WEIGH EVERY DAY. You know the saying, "if you could see the donut go to your hips/belly, would you eat it?" Well, if you log all the food, and you weigh every day - you can track it. If you can track it you can see the results of…

Where I was - eating a whole large pizza and 20 wings and 4-5 cups of ranch dressing and a 4-6 beers. I can't imagine how many calories and carbs that was, but it had to be in the thousands/hundreds. Needless to say, I was diagnosed with Diabetes II and my doctor was very concerned about my initial Hemoglobin A1C (13.5).…

I got this Taylor scale - which supposedly does body fat - by knowing some facts about you, and sending unnoticable electricity through your body to measure resistance and calculate body fat: http://www.amazon.com/Taylor-Glass-Chrome-Digital-Scale/dp/B0000E2PEI/ref=sr_1_1?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1306846429&sr=1-1

Hmm. Maybe - looking at anatomy pic, looks about right for where I feel it. I'll try those stretches - more stretching should only help anyway, right? Thanks.

Yes, running on mostly road - however, I move around - sometimes left side, sometimes right, sometimes sidewalk. Then I'll hit a trail for a little while.

I joined WW about a month before joinng MFP. I'm doing the monthly plan with WW - so it's about $40 US / month. With that, I get access to the website, which is pretty good, and can use a couple of apps on my Droid (Android) phone - so the points calculation isn't difficult - they don't count calories, since anyone can do…
