Iv'e never ran a competitive timed 5k run, but during my ' long runs' I usually hit the 5k mark at around 31 minutes.

My favourite snack of all time..so simple. DARK chick peas ( but I suppose you could use regular ones) Some chopped coriander/cilantro Lemon Juice As much chilli powder as you like.. and off you go...it's filling, high in protein and so easy and quick to make.

Nike fuelband 'calories' are not really accurate in any way,shape or form. I have worn a fuelband for the past 2 years and it is PURELY an activity measure based on a made up ' nike fuel' formula. For example, I did a 30 mile bike ride and only scored 65 fuel points...so based on that alone, the calories shown for the day…

thats a great goal to shoot for...and I do believe you might surprise yourself with a sub 20 minute 5k time if you work at it. Long distance running is HARD..running a fast 5k is one of the toughest things I have ever attempted as a runner.

When I started running after finishing c25k, I did the running everyday thing and surprise, surprise, i got injured.. I followed hal higdon's novice 2 programme that has you running 4 times a week, x training once and 2 days rest. Now, I'll run every day, but rest the day before and the day after a 'long run' ( 13 miles +)…

I'm about resigned to ditch my Garmin forerunner..one too many unrecognised presses of the button meaning half my runs go unrecorded, no matter how hard I press the buttons, just too fiddly for my liking... but the new TomTom sportwatch looks AWESOME..DCrainmaker gave it a decent review.

It definitely gets easier when you make it easier for yourself! By that I'm suggesting you slow down a little bit so your'e not struggling so much? If you are 'serious' about running, then it might be an idea to get fitted running shoes from a running store, and following a c25k plan. Eating at a HEALTHY deficit combined…
