Thanks for the encouragement from both of you. I did week 2 day 2 this morning and I have to admit that the 3 minute intervals are worrying me. I'm going to take stock in what you've said and know that I can do it. Thanks again!

Obvously he isn't motivated by constructive critisim (see breakfast story). Plus the going back to bed and saying that he's " too fat to eat" shows that he's a little depressed and feels out of control. You need to catch him doing something right and give him some praise and turn a blind eye to his tresspasses for the time…

I use: 1/2 Cup Cottage Cheese 1/2 Cup Egg Beaters 1/2 Cup Oatmeal Blend in a blender until smooth. Make pancakes in a skillet with cooking spray. I make a topping by putting berries in a small bowl, fill with just enough sugar free pancake syrup to cover, and microwave for a minute or two until bubbly. Yum! Now I'm not at…

Well it's probably different for men, but I find that I lose an inch for every 10 pounds pretty consistently. So I need to lose 20 pounds to go down a pant size.

I did w1d1 today. I'm going to do it Monday, Wednesday, Friday with my week starting on Friday. Thanks for starting this topic!

Spread Peanut Butter on a piece of whole grain bread, put a banana in the center, wrap the bread around and eat it like a hot dog. Yummy and simple.

I think 5 pounds per month is ideal. From what you say, you are the poster child for smart heathy weight loss. My advise is to give yourself a big pat on the back and enjoy your accomplishment.

Has anyone tried any of the Couch to 5k apps? I've downloaded the Podcasts, but the apps allow you to play your own music in the background. I just wanted to see how easy they are to use.

Congratulations on your amazing progress. You're going to do great! This will be another tool in your toolbox toward a heathy life.

Carne Asada Burritos.

Wow, It made me feel soooooooooooooo much better. Plus my blood pressure was much lower on my subsequent Dr. visit. It does take a while to get used to the mask, just keep putting it on every night and keep it on longer. Soon you will keep it on all night. That being said there are a number of differerent styles of mask,…

Good for you! Anyone that would bash you for giving up a comfortable lifestyle to get an education which will improve yourself and your family in the long run is an idiot. You've already gotten great advice here about buying beans and things in bulk so I won't go over that again. My wife works with a church that runs a…

Dried beans, peas and lentels are cheaper than Ramen and a nutritional powerhouse. Get some receipes and get ready for the end of the month.

The great thing is that you have lots of time. Every time you pick up a newspaper I would scan the sports page and read every article about football that you see. I'm sure you are fans of a particular team. You should go online to their homepage and you can probably subscribe to an email update whenever something…

Considering goals, I think about what is good for you and what isn't. I consider the calorie, carbohydrates, and fat numbers to be maximums. I consider protein and fiber to be minimums. I try to exceed them. I think you can get too much protein, but you would have to double the number on MFP to even consider worrying about…

This is about making changes to make yourself healthier. It sounds as if you and your wife have made some huge changes for the better and are being rewarded by a new heathier body. At some time you may become dissatisfied with the result and need to make some additional small heathy changes to continue to see results, but…

Absolutely, that was the first thing my wife said when he won the $100,000. Now maybe he can get his tooth fixed. How can someone go on National TV with a missing tooth in front?

Find someplace with a lot of stairs (Soccer Stadium, parking garage) and run up and down them a few times. It will add intensity to your workout.

I had a friend who suffered with back problems for years. He started doing Yoga and his back problems were gone. I'm not sure what resourses are available where you live, but often Community College or Adult Continuing Education centers will have semester classes very reasonably.

My bottom has no padding. It hurts to sit on a hard chair.

They are in the refrigerated section, they come in plastic bags packed in water. In California they are now available in the grocery stores, but a couple of years ago I had to go to Asian markets to find them. You might try that.

Why are you apologizing, we agree.

At the end when they showed who everyone voted for, did I see that right, did Sandra vote for Amanda?

I consider protein and fiber to be minimums rather than maximums. It's not a problem.

This is so stupid. Since we're concered about high calories let's eliminate the item that has none. If they wanted to make a point maybe not allow toys in meals that have over 450 calories. I guess kids in Santa Cruz have to go to Monterrey to buy a Happy Meal.

185 celsius = 365 farenheit.

Frozen cooked shrimp. Nothing is easier and it's just about as light as you can get.

I only log things that are above my normal activity. For example, I wouldn't log normal yardwork or housework, however if I spend half the day digging out the garden or cleaning the carpets where I move the all the furniture I would log it.

I'm 50 now and the best friend I had in High School was gay and I'm not. It was weird, but works fine, were still friends. It's even more common now as, thankfully, younger people don't see a stigma in being gay. Don't worry about it. If your son is gay, it has nothing to do with spending time with this young man. If he's…

Hmmm, ten good days, one not so good. That's a successful ratio. That's a 91%. In school they give you an A for that. 1000 calories isn't even 1/3 of a pound. Just get right back on and make sure you have a good day today. Make it easy on yourself, call someone and ask them to walk with you sometime today. Plan something…
