  • Wow! I'm amazed by this!! I have lots of stretch marks and have long given up on ever not having stretched, loose skin. I know it depends on the individual, but this definitely gives me hope :-)
  • I always do the same stretches Jillian does on the cooldown, but I hold each one much longer than she does (at least 20 seconds on each and usually more like 30 seconds each). I'd recommend this over the quick run through that Jillian does.
  • I know it seems counterproductive, but definitely stay away from salads or fresh produce unless you can guarantee it has been prepared with safe water. Brush your teeth with bottled water, too. I didn't follow this advice the last time I was in Cambodia and it didn't make any difference what I ate since I suffered with my…
  • Wow that's awesome!! I'm definitely going to try the diet soda thing!
  • I haven't felt it today, but I've just walked around at a slow pace and not done any real activity. However, I do feel tender around that area and I also just noticed that when I twist to the right, it feels sore around my waist in kind of a lactic acid way. I'll be running tomorrow hopefully, so will try the stooping over…
  • Welcome! You're in the right place, it's a really good motivating and supportive atmosphere here. I'll send you a friend request and do my best to support you in your weightloss journey! Good luck!
  • Same here
  • Hey everyone, I'm also in the midlands: Northants to be precise. Please feel free to add me - I'm always up for extra support and motivation. Good luck to you all :-)
  • I 'became' gluten intolerant while living in Japan and went completely gluten-free over there for about 18 months. There are no substitute products available there so I had no choice. I then stayed GF when I came back to England and all in all, it's been about 4 years now since I started the GF way of life. I recently read…
  • Hey, I have a small one on my ankle and it wasn't painful at all - plus it only took about 5 minutes, so not really anything to endure. I'd say the pain was about a 2. I have a tribal design at the base of my back and I'd rate the pain for that one at about a 6, maybe a 7 at some points. It took about 20 minutes. I have a…
  • How's your breathing? I used to get the same (and still do, but now only after eating a little while before a run) and then I googled some breathing techniques and have more or less eliminated the problem. Make sure you're breathing from your belly rather than your chest, I swear it solved my problem. Hope you solve it!
  • I'm at week 7 now and find that I burn more or less the same as I did in the earlier weeks. This is because my fitness levels have vastly improved and although I'm running constantly now for 25 minutes, it's less of an effort now. My heartrate would get up to about 185-190 during the early running intervals, but now i run…

  • I had a stress fracture in my foot a few years ago and it was REALLY painful. When I walked on it, it felt like a grinding inside and it hurt to even put weight on it at all. It was one of the bones, so I guess different bones may have different feelings when fractured, but it's definitely worth getting it checked out and…

  • Me too! Apple and peanut butter, or sometimes a glass of chocolate milk. Sometimes both!
  • Awesome! Your start weight was the same as mine and your current weight is just about my goal (provisional goal), so it's really motivating to see this! I'm at 199 right now and your pics have really given me a buzz! Well done, you're looking great!
  • I've only really just started running properly, so I'm still not in the 'zone' when I run. In fact, what I think about is something like this: "OK, this is going OK..oooops slow down, that's better...my legs feel OK....forgot about my breathing, yep that's good at the moment. That must be 10 minutes by now, I'm doing good.…
  • This sounds like my ideal commute :-)
  • Thanks! But it was only 8 minutes, which although being the longest I've run for, is still just a drop in the ocean in the grand scheme of things. But onwards and upwards - day 3 of week 5 on Monday: 20 minute run with no walking... bit nervous about that one!
  • I'm also a fan of hairy guys. I like that manly, natural look. It's also nice to snuggle up against. Bare chests are OK (I suppose), but I find men who wax or shave their chest, legs or arms a real turn off. One thing I really dislike is a full on carpet on the back though... ewwww. I see guys like that at the pool all the…
  • My favourite was when I went to Tom Morello's solo gig when I was living in Japan. My friend and I were literally the only two people in the crowd who he could communicate with (it was a tiny club venue in Osaka), so we ended up being the target for his conversations and as he went offstage, he invited us backstage where…

  • Hey chick, I'm in the same boat. I recently split up with my boyfriend and although a big part of that was because I just knew he just wasn't right for me, a big part was that I'm just not very good at being part of an 'us', but a bigger part was because I need to focus on me right now. I actually met him when I first…
  • Hey Toby, I'm Sarah: 31, Northants. I've got about 45lbs to lose (have lost 24 so far). Will send you a friend request. Good luck with your journey :-)
  • Yeah I agree - weighing food is a real eye-opener. I now weigh everything that I can't judge by sight alone (for example, I know what an ounce of grated cheese is without getting out the scale). The biggest surprise for me was cereal - the first time I measured a 'portion', it was about a third of what I would've normally…
  • I am also of the same habit. I've tried to conquer it by doing a lot of exercise after work so that I'm eating my dinner later and I'm too full and too tired to snack as I used to do. I find that if I do want some chocolate or something sweet, I just have a smaller portion but make sure I'm within my calorie limits. I am…
  • Day 6: 1.8 miles walking 16.5 miles cycling (18.3 total) Total so far: 39.5 miles
  • Day 5: 2 miles walking Total so far: 21.2 miles
  • Day 4: 9 miles (7 miles cycling + 2 miles walking and running) Total so far: 19.2 miles
  • I didn't buy mine from Ebay, but mine wasn't especially expensive and it does the job as well as my old expensive one (which broke - ha!) I paid £30 for mine. I would make sure they have chest straps so they're as accurate as possible.
  • Everyone feel free to add me. I have a few friends on here and sometimes a few words of encouragement or just someone noticing that you're not on track is all it takes to motivate you and give you the kick you need. It kind of makes me feel accountable to someone. :-)
