I almost always use chuck. In fact, I used some yesterday for beef stew. Anything tough/fatty will benefit from a long, slow braise. And usually it's the cheapest, too!

Protein powder is a viable way to add protein to your diet. However, as a person who consumes a protein shake 3 days a week before lifting, I will say that protein foods are better because they actually fill you up. I also think that your (MFP's) protein goal is too low. You want to maintain as much lean mass as possible…

Are you eating more (insoluble) fiber than you used to (like whole wheat, brown rice, etc.)? I have IBS and when I first started eating differently, my bowels were seriously messed up because I was eating way more insoluble fiber than they could handle. Alternatively, are you consuming whey protein? Sometimes that messes…

I don't snack NEARLY as much as I used to, and I think that's a very good thing. If I get hungry between meals, I typically have a Quest bar, Power Crunch bar, protein shake, milk (sometimes chocolate), or a Graze punnet (especially nuts/seeds, dried fruit, or their crazy awesome granola bar things). I like string cheese…

You mean to make spaghetti out of? Zucchini. Just make sure you squeeze it well after you boil it to get the water out, unless you use it raw. Also, actual spaghetti squash with butter and salt & pepper is delicious.

Shaved and pan-roasted with olive oil and garlic. Or in bacon, onion, potato hash with cheese and fried egg on top. Typical weekend breakfast for me. :D

A HA! It doesn't taste like coconut! The amber variety tastes like caramel.

My goal is 2000 calories of real food. How's that for eating? :P

Fluctuations of ±5 lb are totally normal, especially for women. Relax and give it some time. There's no way you lose 2 pounds of fat in one day and there's no way you gain 3 lbs of fat overnight, either. It's a long-term thing.

Haaaaaave you met... coconut nectar?

WTH is a horsebox? I think she rode in on a broken horsebox...

I'm with you. There's like one inch between my waist and underbust. So freaking irritating.

The air is toxic. I think you need a cleanse to jump-start your progress.

I blame your mother, as well.

I have been to Negril, Jamaica, but not a resort. We rented a house in a neighborhood called Citronella. There was a semi-private cove in the back and it wasn't even that expensive. Had an absolutely amazing time. As for what to do there? I'm sure you'll figure it out. ;)

I log them to show off to my friends when I actually eat my vegetables.

Ummm... in most cases, that's light. A lot of us are lifting heavy barbells with great success using programs like http://stronglifts.com/stronglifts-5x5-beginner-strength-training-program/ and http://newbie-fitness.blogspot.com/2007/01/stripped-5x5.html (the one I do) and New Rules of Lifting for Women (a great read,…

Yoga and lifting. I struggle with anxiety as well. Yoga and meditation are great for getting calm. Lifting helps just in general. Rescue Remedy is just some homeopathic stuff in a brandy solution. Give it a try if you want, but IMO it works best on cats.

I just got back into yoga last week. It had been a few years; perfect timing for this thread. Each time I do it, I can't wait to do it again. As a kid (4 or 5), I used to watch "Lilias, Yoga, and You" on PBS. I didn't follow along with her until I was older, though, hahaha.

Let's deviate from diet a little. Are your dumbbells heavy? Strength training is what will help you lower your body fat percentage by building muscle. It is achieved by lifting heavy things fewer times. Strength training is different from endurance training, which is achieved by lifting lighter things many times. Which are…

Oh yeah fire definitely. And fiberglass, because it reminds me of my grandfather, who built boats in his spare time. And chlorine because SWIMMING!

I do this one http://newbie-fitness.blogspot.com/2007/01/stripped-5x5.html It's slightly different in that you only do squats on workout A day, you do 5x5 deadlifts instead of 1x5, and you add pull-ups/chin-ups. I like it.

Many sources claim diabetics should observe a limit of 200-300 mg of cholesterol per day (I realize 300 mg per day is a "normal" limit as well, but I don't subscribe to that idea). I don't know why because I'm not diabetic; I just love eggs. (ETA: I used diabetes as an example disease. People with diseases should follow…

Umm... how is what I said incorrect? People with diseases like diabeetus aren't supposed to have as much dietary cholesterol as people who don't have those kinds of diseases. So us "normal" people with none such condition should eat whole eggs. Read my post before you call it wrong, please.
-
Proud nerd here. Add me if you want!
-
Eggs are great as long as you don't have an existing condition which would require you to limit fat/cholesterol. For normal, healthy people, EAT THE EGGS.

I am straight up drooling over those chocolate chip peanut butter cookies.
