I can relate with the tiredness. Had surgery on 10/1 and getting the energy back has been the biggest issue. A 20 minute walk zaps me. I understand I am just coming off surgery and that I am only consuming 600-800 calories a day, but it is frustrating. Just got over my first plateau as my body adjusted to the lower calorie…

I had surgery on 10/1/14 and it has been a lot of tuna fish and canned chicken. Great protein, but it gets old. Got the OK at my two week appt. for chili as long as it resembles Wendy's with little pieces of meat and no chunks. What a life saver for something different. Had my surgery on 10/1/14. No pain and starting pureed stage. No hunger, but fill up super fast. Lost 43 preop.

The purpose of the 2 week liquid diet at my facility is to reduce the liver size since it sits on top of the stomach. THe hope is that the liver reduces 30% and that will help in avoiding any unnecessary bruising to the liver during surgery.

You are lucky. My Pre-op is liquids only for two weeks. I started a couple days early since it was the beginning of the week. Water, 5 Protein Shakes a day, broth, or jello is pretty much the routine. Going to be a long haul, but hope to drop 20 lbs during the Pre-op diet.

I too started my pre-op liquid diet today. Good Luck and let the journey begin.
