I agree that it's a big win! Way to go!

WTG! That's a great feeling!

I have a Polar FT7 that I like a lot. I have used it for jogging, as well as other exercises.

Zumba on Wii, Xbox, DVD, or whatever you have... If you have a Roku or Amazon Prime, there are exercise channels/programs.

I started getting occasional comments after 30 lbs. Now that I've lost more than 50 lbs, I am getting compliments more frequently. I think better fitting, more flattering clothes help a lot. Hang in there- I know how discouraging it is when you feel like there must be no change if nobody is saying anything.

You look fantastic- so inspiring!

My husband mentioned running with me. After I thought about it, I told him we should go to the gym and run next to each other on treadmills. That way, I can keep up my pace, and he can switch to walking on a steep incline, which he prefers. Gym daycare for the kids!

I bought enough at WalMart and Target to last 5 days. I wear them only once and wash with Sport Wash in cold water. It seems to keep them in good shape. I'm hoping to size down again soon, anyhow. :)

Wow, you look fantastic! I think that's my dream body!

This is about 40 lbs difference, from Feb. 2014 to Aug. 2014:

How awesome to be totally unrecognizable!

Way to go! You look fantastic!

I have a Polar FT7. Of course, I am glad to finally get accurate numbers for calories burned. I also like knowing my HR throughout my workout. If it's looking a little low, I can push myself a little harder. I also like seeing how it "improves" with more exercise. For example, I can run a lot longer than I used to be able…

Thanks for the replies. I think I will try it!

I use a Polar FT7 and generally burn about 300 calories in 30 minutes of mostly running. I would say something is wrong with your HRM's calculations. Does it have a chest strap? Those seem to be way more accurate.

I agree, it's awesome! There is just something great about the atmosphere. My sister and I have been doing C25k (we are on week 7) and did our second 5k today. I admit, I have spent a lot of time looking over a calendar of local races, choosing which ones I want to do next!

You can definitely lose at least 10 pounds per month in the first few months you are working on it. What worked for me in the beginning was setting my goal to losing 2 lbs per week, tracking my food VERY carefully, and exercising every day. If you find something you enjoy (for me, it's Zumba), it won't seem like work.…

That sounds about right. When I started, I walked at 3.8 and ran at 5.0. I would get close to 2 miles. Your distance will increase as your running intervals get longer and if you go faster.

When I had lost about 30 lbs, I started to get comments. However, I started with about 90-100 to lose. I think it depends of what size goal you have. I had a hard time believing I looked any different until I started hearing it from other people.

I would definitely try c25k. However, if you're extremely out of shape, you might try some other cardio first. I started with 30 minutes on a recumbent bike at the beginning of this year, then switched to 30 minutes on an elliptical. Then I added Zumba several times a week. By the time I started running this month, I was…

I exercise every day, sometimes twice, and generally stay under my calorie goal. Sometimes I will go 5 or 6 days without a change on the scale. It DOES eventually change, though. Just keep exercising and logging all your food accurately and it WILL happen.

Definitely eat back the calories. 500 sounds right. I would track your food carefully and if you are losing 1-2 pounds per week, you are probably eating enough. If you are losing more than that, you may need to eat more. I breastfed 5 kids and cannot recommend highly enough the book "Eat Well, Lose Weight While…

Way to go! I admire your courage in posting swimsuit pictures.

Strength training?

I think it's almost like being an alcoholic- you have to hit your personal bottom before you can really dedicate yourself to changing your life. For me, I looked at myself at the beginning of the year and realized that I was about to turn 40 and was feeling miserable about the way I looked. I started off slow, adding 30…

I am on Week 2 and have run both outside and on a treadmill. I think it's really a matter of personal preference. I think the treadmill seems a little "softer" and I like knowing exactly what my speed is at all times. Outside is fine, too, as long as the weather is good. Heat is a deal breaker for me. :) Don't worry about…

In recipes, if you go to the screen that lists all your recipes and mouse over the recipe you want to delete, a "remove" option will pop up in the corner.

I do some sort of cardio every day (martial arts, turbo kick, Zumba, c25k) and just started doing weight training 3x per week. For me daily exercise keeps me sane (and feeling great) and allows me plenty of wiggle room as far as eating.

If you live in an area that has Bountiful Baskets (just check their website), you can get a basket of fruits and veggies for $15, usually about 6 kinds of fruit and 6 kinds of veggies. You get different stuff every time, so you can sample new things you may not have tried before. You might find something you actually…

I got a Polar FT7 from Amazon for $75 and really like it so far. One of the reasons I chose it over the FT4 is that is stores 99 training files. I like to look back at my data over time. :)
