Make sure you stretch a lot before and after. As for today, If it's not a "good sore" I would just go for a long walk and pick it back up tomorrow.

What's nice about the machines is they'll tell you your heart rate. It's harder to slack on them. You can end up just going through the motions in a class after awhile. However, I love the human interaction of the classes. So I don't know, I'll be unhelpful and say both are good for you.

Ditch the harsh browns or the pancakes, pick which one you really want. If pancakes get the butter on the side and dip them into the syrup, to save calories. Tell them to go easy on the cheese in the eggs. Save where you can, because diners love their grease. That's my two cents.

If your gym has classes take advantage of them! Don't be afraid to stop and pause in the middle of them either. It took me awhile to build up enough strength and stamina, but I'm so glad I kept with it. Good luck!

Looked at your diary, think it's time to get some more veggies in the diet and add sodium so you can keep an eye on it. Also make sure your body has time to recover from workouts. Hope that helps.

Try to find someone to he can look up to like another athlete at the school, a trainer, a friend who's a body builder. If a peer tells him the same things it will suddenly be cool. Also, avoid saying I told you so. Instead ask him questions about it and let him tell you how it is. Guys and showing off...sigh. Good luck.

Learn to make a couple basic stir-frys. Quick, inexpensive and it helps get the veggies in. Beware buying tons of processed food. They are full of sodium and hidden chemicals. If your gym has classes definitely check those out!

Make sure you apply and let it set before you start running/walking. Aveeno and Neutrogena work well. Banana Boat makes one two that work really well, but it felt heavy in my opinion.
