Well, I was doing elliptical @ my local gym for almost 6 months, for about an hour every day (or an hour and a half if I was up to it,) and frankly I got bigger thighs rather than weight loss effect. At first I thought it was coincidental, but when I switched elliptical with actual walking (not teradmill,) my thighs have…

I am so much in!!! I have no idea what happened or why, but I know for sure that this time around I'll make it because I'm strong. My maintenance grew into sth else. Well, now I know that in order to maintain I have to set weight loss goals, otherwise I will end up faaat.

Every lb lost is a success story. Breakthrough after plateau is 2x success, so I congratulate you on your weight loss journey! I have stalled somewhat, but I feel that I have to stay for awhile in my current weight to be able to continue my current lifestyle. Autumn comes slowly, therefore I have to readjust my activities…

Hi! October has been a bit embarrassing for me, but I know that I can manage to get back on track w/ the help of MFPers! My stats: Height: 5'2.75'' SW: 119 (10.09.2014) CW: 121 GW: 116 Weigh in Dates: 10/04 Sat: 121 (horrified about 2 lb gain, food for thought) 10/11 Sat: (Since it is 2morrow, don't expect much progress.…

Well, here's your answer. She can't tolerate that you will have perfect body. AND teeth, I imagine. She sees you as a rival. I know (trust me!) that the journey you have started will be strenuous, so be ready for huuuge obstacles. Even friends can be... Well. "Sabotaging," using your own vocabulary. Your life has just…

Oh my, not to b rude, but I think your friend is jealous b/c you have succeeded to do sth she either couldn't carry out herself or she feels intimidated by your display of free will, as strange as it sounds. Why would she do that? I wonder what kind of friendship you have... She fears that you are somehow superior than…

OMG! Hi! My measurements: Height: 160cm (5'2.5") Weight: 54Kg (about 119 pounds) I also never had regular TOM, but my TOM stopped altogether at the end of June! Still hasn't returned. I visited my gyn, she said that I diet too much, that 1200cal/day I stick to is not enough etc. My gyn said that my ideal weight is 60kg…

Yesterday is long gone. Time to move forward. There is always that - time to make the right decision.

Thanks, I was secretly hoping to hear that :) As to protein, it turned out that I have some issues w/ it, so I have to rely more on carbs (that raise my energy levels.) I eat healthy fats though (nuts, avocado now and then.) I am honest w/ myself, I have some 5lbs to lose, and it's sooo hard. I am 123 lbs, I aim for 118,…

Well, this seems to contradict the statement that a calorie is a calorie. It's all about calories, you can have even 80% of carbs if it fits your calorie limit. At least MFP calculates it this way (when you finish logging everything and press "complete this entry," it still shows steady weight loss even if you have logged…

Perhaps I should indeed reconsider my motivation behind going to the movies. I go there to enjoy a movie; food has (and should) nothing to do w/ it. So, whenever I think about food I should think that food in the movies is a marketing trick to force consumers to spend more $. And I for sure am unwilling to be a victim of…

Thank you! Well, almonds have less cals than cashews, so I can grab a handful w/ me. Trail mix usually are loaded w/ cals, I prefer a mix of my own :D Oh, dark chocolate sounds good, I'll give it a try! 100g bar of dark chocolate is around 550cals, so yeah, it's acceptable. 20 almonds is about 130cals, so altogether it's…

Oh yeah, I am 5'2 so I can definitely relate to that. Taller girls who weigh a lot more than I do still manage to look quite skinny while me - well... Any lb I put on shows instantly on the way I look. Although high heels help, but I hate high-heeled shoes. I luuuv my flats.
-
And that's so... bad. You shouldn't be. It takes an enormous self-control to be hungry and be able to cope on long-term w/ constant hunger. I truly admire you...

As far as I have understood (I am new to this, not yet "officially" diagnosed,) it is vital to have "normal" level of TSH etc so that I am able to lose. That is, all efforts are fruitless until I have my condition "stabilized." BTW, have you been checked for Vitamin D deficiency? It could contribute greatly to the weight…

Soooo encouraging. Keep up the good work! Awesome!

It's meeee, it's meee! I mean, my shoulders are broader than my hips, my height is 5'2", weight is 127lb, my upper body looks skinny (bones protruding etc.) BUT I have killer thighs, although hips per se aren't awfully wide (narrower than my shoulders.) I have quite wide ribcage too (since childhood.) As a child I was even…

I am no expert, I'm a patient (was there too.) I just want to share my experience, and how I managed to move forward from plateau. I changed my protein goal so that I would consume more protein/fibre and less carbs. I saw in your diary that you usually start your day w/ wheat bread, I wouldn't recommend that. In fact, in…

I am so with you! I can't afford even wearing dresses, not to mention shorts or anything... short. It's summer, nice weather, and I still wear jeans, just white ones. I want to look nice in shorts so badly that I scream at myself for being so utterly ugly, but I can't do anything about it. I want to be admired in shorts,…

Thank you! YES! I should have eaten more during the day, I was just too afraid to go way above my cal limit... I log everything I eat, even small snacks (such as one strawberry,) and I usually plan all my meals ahead so that I am able to remind myself every time the importance of eating healthy. Sometimes I just want to…

Thanks for all your support! OMG, I am so lucky to have myself here :) I log everything I eat, every day, after every meal. Heck, I even downloaded MFP app so that I could always track my progress at any time! I have done also additional tests (on thyroid function etc.) and everything seems OK apart from Gilbert's…

Awesome! I do kickboxing! You have very impressive results, just keep going, even if you lose 1lb, it makes a huge difference, trust me!

Hi! I am looking for advice as to whether I should include it in my diet or not. I do workouts, and sometimes it is hard to keep up the right pace to reach my goal; I can hardly ever run for more than 10min. I've read a lot of reviews where it was stressed that L-carnitine helped to burn more calories. I would like some…

Hi! I'm Julie, I am into Brit Mystery TV shows! You name it - I've seen it all! So, it was always my dream to become a police officer! Due to heart issues I was never able to enrol to anything sports-related so I compensate my misfortunes by reading lot of Connelly, Child etc and yes! watching classy and not-so-classy…
