Please don't totally trust MFP's verified items. :) That verification depends on what brands and so many other things. Unfortunately, one brand/country's verified item may be different from another brand/country's verified item. The best thing to do is check your label against MFP's verified items. I have been using cooked…

You could start by weighing raw chicken. After cooking, weigh again to determine how much it weights. Then use that as a rough estimate of which to use for cooked chicken. Or you could just use the raw weight and choose the best item for that based on ounces. Personally, I think as long as you are consistent whether you…

Awesome! Congratulations.

Wonderful job. Congratulations. 'Sustainable method' is so key.

A caveat: Everyone is different and even if two people take the exact same route, their results might differ. With that said, I lost 37, with 5 lbs or so to go. It took me about 8 months of fairly steady loss and 3 months of ups and downs. The ups were never more than 2-5 lbs. The ups happened when I got slack in my eating…

1. Definitely buy a food scale so you can have a better idea of how much you are eating. 2. Start walking even if you can only go up the block initially. 3. Please don't start at 1200 calories - which is what MFP might start you with. You will backslide if you make such a drastic change in calories at your first attempt.…

Very doable. I've lost nearly 40 lbs since July 2014 just walking/jogging, mostly walking and tracking my caloric intake. I am 6 lbs from my goal weight of 155 lbs. (The only reason I haven't made my goal yet is because I slacked off terribly at Thanksgiving/Christmas) :)

The easiest way is to enter .5 serving instead of 1 serving. Keep in mind, the Food and Drug Administration allows some +/- leeway in calorie calculation so food packages are NOT exact. Imagine in a factory, every item comes off the conveyor belt weighing exactly the same...doesn't happen. If you want to be super accurate,…

Great job! Congratulations. I echo what the above posters mentioned...you look so much younger.

Eating back your calories depends on which method you are using. If you told MFP that you plan to do X minutes of exercise for Y days (The TDEE system), you should not be eating back your calories unless you racked up more than what is in your calculated MFP numbers. Those exercise calories are already factored in your…

Did you do a check...like taking a specific number of steps to see if it is registering the steps correctly? Did you enter your stride length correctly?
-
Nope. I have been doing that since I started MFP and have lost 34+ pounds. Approximately 3500 calorie deficit per week to lose one pound. That works any way you slice it.

What: A powdered-sugar donut. Why: Because my 14 year old just made them from scratch and I never say no to my 14 year old's food offerings/experiments. <3 LOL!

You should make a blog post out of this. Too hilarious!

I weigh daily because I have an app that graphs my daily weight and I'm a nerd who likes to look at those peaks and valleys on the graph. LOL! I don't get upset at the fluctuations though unless I know I sabotaged myself in some way. Then I give myself a 'talking to' and move on.

It is really delicious. I make it all the time, especially when our church does the 21 day Daniel Fast. I sometimes add any combination of zucchini, yellow squash, cabbage, bokchoy, red skin potatoes, corn on the cobb, and leeks. Occasionally, I add smoked turkey wings. I still have a container in my freezer from when I…
