Up 0.2 lbs. Small portions except on the sweet potato pie and the mac and cheese. Oh well.

Awesome progress!

Lots of people use FitBit successfully. Like any other device, you may have to calibrate it the first time you use it.

The very best of luck to you. My one advice would be not to give up everything at once. Make small changes or you'll find yourself right back where you started when you begin feeling deprived. Most folks who lost weight and kept it off successfully will tell you moderation, not deprivation. You've done well to introduce…

Thanks for these tips: from a fellow flat-footer.

[quote= [/quote] So basically, you want people to do all the work for you and lie to you? Until the terms of service state that you may not have an opinion, there really is no reason for these threads. I am not mean because I will tell you what is actually required to lose weight. Eat less, move more. Do it every day for a…

If someone asked me face to face to recommend a book for a specific topic, my answer would be "I don't know of one" OR "I don't know of one, but I will ask around" OR, "here is one I found helpful". Why would I answer, you are too lazy? Or that you are looking for someone to do the work for you? So YOU got it! Good for…

There is a +/- 20% leeway in the calories on food labels so I wouldn't stress going over by 37. As someone said, it's about the overall deficit in a week, not so much one day.

Lost 1 inch from my bust, waist, and hip when I measured on Sunday. My slacks are too big and several persons remarked that my clothes were getting too big. The three rolls of fat on either side of my back are down to one roll on one side and one and a half on the other.

ROFLMHO! Is Kalikel saying if I have one pound of muscles that is more in weight than one pound of fat? Hmmm!
-
I totally agree. 1lb is 1lb is 1lb no matter how you slice it. I think the confusion comes from muscles being denser than fat and taking up less space. So someone might weigh the same but find their clothes fitting looser because they have lost some fat tissue and gained muscle tissue.

Baby steps! My favorite saying is that you eat an elephant one bite at a time, no matter how large the elephant. This blog post might inspire you as it did me. Best of wishes to all on your healthy lifestyle change. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/BombshellPhoenix/view/my-1200-calorie-story-705482

I think if you lose it at a slow rate, you don't have to contend too much with loose skin because as you exercise, your body gets a chance to tighten up. That has been my experience anyway. But then, I never had as much as 100 lbs to lose. Check out some of the other forum posts on folks who lost 100 lbs or more...slowly…

Once my brain made the connection regarding calories in and out and weight loss, I have been on a roll! I love the consciousness of my new lifestyle. I have been losing an average of 1 1lb per week and I eat fairly healthy...even before I consciously started trying to lose weight. The major change for me was portion…

Not sure what restaurants you typically visit but sadly not all restaurants labeled Caribbean is actually Caribbean. :-( That menu does not sound fully Caribbean to me...I'm Jamaican by the way. With that said...Jerk chicken is not fried. It is either baked in the oven or cooked on a grill. The name jerk comes from the…

Counting calories and exercising does work to help you lose weight as I can attest. Are you using a food scale? It is very easy to overestimate your calories. Take a look at this YouTube video about how easy it is to do. Good luck. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TGcdyfDM3oQ
