  • whey isolate protein w/vanilla yogurt is a must have after my intense workouts...30 minutes after any significant weights. makes all the difference in replenishing the body and rebuilding that muscle.
  • two is great...I would often workout in the morning, say zumba wii....,then hit the gym with the kids and the elliptical.
  • there's no right or wrong...altho I would not count every day activities normal to my life. Now when I mow the lawn or shampoo the carpets, I will log that as moderate exercise. nursing a baby is pretty darn close tho!
  • I'm new to 30 DS, but heard great things and been waiting for the opportunity to give it a go! I've slacked off a little since our Vegas trip this summer, but I love the feeling AFTER a good workout, ha ha... With the cooler weather finally here...Austin...I'm better able to refocus and not die from the excessive…
  • plan all your eats...don't leave home w/o your goody bag and stay hydrated. meditate a bit and speak the words that you're hoping for. expect good things, even is difficult/worrisome situations. congrats...you're beautiful and you deserve happiness with your hubby! thank him for his service...much appreciated. mj

  • It's the only cardio workout that I actually look forward to with gusto! I was gifted Zumba Wii...it's a tremendous workout. I love it 'cause I can really let lose w/no one watching. 600 - 800 calories burned, easy...wearing an HRM also helps me to turn it up !

  • SORRY...that should have read: I've focus on less than 30 PERCENT (sorry) of fat a day...trying to get it closer to 20%. anything over that is not healthy and counter productive for healthly weightloss. Edited by hooah_mj on Sun 11/20/11 06:56 PM Thx for catching that...I'm right there with you

  • hugs, first. so sorry you feel so bad...try talking to your body with words of affirmation and love. tell it that you are on a new path to drop the weight and feel better inside and out. give yourself a hug and forgive yourself, then start fresh everyday. be kind to yourself...it will reciprocate the kindness.…
  • This is the difference between living it as a lifestyle, or in it to regain it and start over and over again.... esp when you've been diligent, your body won't even notice a dinner like the one you hope to enjoy!
  • OP: How long before you stop feeling like you're still "big"? the double edged sword, http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/398328-the-fat-girl
  • Good ol' college days....your young body can withstand most of that, just be careful that you're not setting yourself up for a lifetime of bad eating. Terrible habits are hard to break, but for now you're very young and your body ignores most of what you're doing to it.... 108...reallly :noway: how I remember those days...
  • the fact is that it's mostly about nutrition. if you keep your calories in check you'll lose. the main reason I exercise is to help my body repair itself. I don't have extra $$ to throw at excess flab, so I keep that in mind when working my program. not to mention the powerhouse of energy that exercise produces. :explode:…
  • the hubs keeps his candy stash in his night stand, and I consider it off limits....it really works.
  • it's the only time I get to dance like that and not get into trouble! love-love zumba...........welcome

  • Hey T so glad you're here...it's tough trying to get and stay fit, and you should be commended for your desire to be healthy! I'm here if you don't mind an old(er) lady that thinks she knows a lot about nothing :flowerforyou: mj
  • my "reason" prob stems from having just the basics growing up...we ate everything on our plate, not bec we were forced to but bec that's all there was (not the worst thing in life). I was never overly hungry, just couldn't over-indulge like my kids are able to. my why I binge today is prob bec I never needed to "control"…
  • I like to think that friends serve a purpose for a particular period in our life, very few continue to the end, and there's nothing wrong with moving on to others that share your new purpose in life. Take no offense to them...you're the one who has changed, for the good...Congrats
  • it does get better! get yourself on a schedule, with a bit of a workout before your day begins...light on the tea/supper until your body works out the new ever-demanding schedule. plenty of water thru the day will help tremendously...and good shoes, too!
  • hooah! you sound utterly fantastic about the new you...
  • Mallory0418 I also hit that wall, it was a solid two month stand still UNTIL I started lifting significant weights...really. BodyPump changed everything and 10 pound just melted off...the cardio just wasn't enough any longer. check with a trainer for proper technique. It's worth the switch...good luck (not that I believe…
  • definitely have the protein ready...replenish w/in 30min of a good workout! I do as heavy as I can through 3 reps of 10...any thing lower doesn't really work for me...WTG!
  • I hear ya...I went thru two years of counting/logging every little bit (yeap even the cough drops), but mostly for education. You gotta know what you're putting in in order to correct the problems...eventually, I just realized what I could not eat when. Now I can simply estimate and the rest really doesn't matter. I eat…
