I used to have RLS. It got worse if I ate a lot of sugar or had coffee in the evening. Sleeping with socks on would sometimes reduce it. I guess keeping my feet warm was good for the blood circulation. But a couple of years ago I found out I had an iron deficiency and when I got my iron level back to normal the RLS…

Waiting for tests and results is no fun at all (been there, done that). Try to keep yourself busy with other things and not to worry too much until you know if there's actually anything to worry about. I know it's easier said than done, but try! If they find something they can fix, things might even get better than it was…

Here are some interesting articles about the connection between sleep and weight: Sleep loss limits fat loss: http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2010/10/101004211637.htm Sleepiness May Impair the Brain's Inhibitory Control When Viewing High-Calorie Foods: http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2011/06/110613093458.htm

I often use this website to convert units: http://www.convertworld.com/ You can compare metric, U.S units, British units etc . To find out how much a cup is, look under Volume (Cooking U.S.)

I just got a Polar FT4 and I like it very much :) I don't think the Polar FT1 and FT2 calculates your calorie burn so if that's the main purpose you should stay away from those.

I also got my Polar FT4 yesterday :) It's easy to use and so far I love it!

Some years ago I was in terrible shape. I had been struggling with an illness for several years, and was often binge eating on top of that. I wasn't obese, but definitely overweight. I started on a walking/jogging program that was meant to gradually build you up to be able to run a certain distance after a certain amount…

I'm no expert but they say that you burn more fat on lower to medium intensity training, than in high intensity training. If you work out too hard you'll get to the anaerobic state - where you burn carbs instead of fat - too fast:…

I live in Oslo, but fortunately I was not there yesterday. My family and friends are also okay. I have friends who were close to the blast, but they are ok. The shooting at Utøya summer camp is just horrible horrible horrible. At least 84 teenagers have been killed there!! This is such a huge tragedy :(

I also take Cerazette and completely lost my periods after a couple of months. I used to have very heavy bleeding, short cycles, severe PMS and bad food cravings. It was very difficult to eat right and regular exercise was impossible. It is so much easier to stay away from junk food and to exercise now! But of course…

I've been thinking about getting an HRM to get a more accurate calorie burn from both EA and other activities. How big is the difference between your HRM and the EA-HRM, e_briggs? Since I haven't got an additional HRM, I have nothing to compare with. Before you start a workout the game makes an estimate of how many…

We already have the statistics of calories burned on http://www.easportsactiveonline.com/group-members (and on the game I guess). Right now the total calorie burn of the whole group since it started is 10 250 cals. So we can just try to make a common effort to push than number up to 25000 (or some other number) by the end…
-
Suggestion for a July Challenge: I took a look at the group statistics today. We're 17 cals away from a 10 000 calorie burn as a group. That's about an average of 2000 cals per member in June. What if we - as a group - try to reach 25 000 calories by the end of July?

Welcome to the group! :)

I'm not surprised :) The min pins I know have tons of energy! Many small dogs have just as much stamina as larger dogs. I don't run, but taking my havanese for long/fast walks has never been a problem. My dog often leaves the room when I workout on my Wii. I guess he doesn't like that I get to jump around and play while…

It might be more difficult to get the water out of a sit-in, but there are techniques and also pumps you can use. There are pros and cons of both sit-ins and sit-on-tops. Which one is best depends on how and where it will be used and on personal preferences.
-
On recreational sit-in kayaks the opening is usually big enough for you to easily get out if you tip over, so you don't need to turn them over while you're still sitting in them :)

I've got this kayak and I love it: http://www.advancedelements.com/advancedframe.html What I like about it is that it doesn't weigh that much so I'm able to lift it by myself (I have a problem with my back). It's an inflatable - but a good one - and I can fold it together and put it in a bag for storage and it fits in the…

You'll find gardening in the exercise database :) I think the calorie burn estimate is a little high, but I guess it depends a lot on what you've been doing.

There are so many places in the world where I would like to go hiking if I had the opportunity! I don't know if this is the coolest one, but we had a very nice hike in Ringebufjellet, close to Rondane in Norway in 2009: http://elinbilder.netthund.no/#1.21 http://elinbilder.netthund.no/#1.20…

Yes, sleep deprivation and weight gain is closely connected. The system that controls your sleep is the same system that controls your appetite and metabolism. Sleep deprivation can make you feel more hungry and at the same time reduce your ability to burn fat - not a good combination. I have narcolepsy which means that…

What is your BMI? I guess 55 kg would be in the middle to lower end of the healthy BMI-zone for a girl of average height? Maybe your body has reached it's ideal weight already?
