Oh Thaeda…you are amazing! Honesty is definitely inspirational. Over and over again you give voice to the thoughts that circle in my head (and I know the heads of others). While still relatively early in this journey, I find myself responding in the following manner to comments/complements on my weight loss: "Talk to me in…

No no! I am over that disappointment!!! That's the point!

I love that you acknowledge the you that used to be and still is, but that you are much kinder to her! Amazing journey, thanks for sharing!

Excellent! I am starting to play around with cooking again as it is always something I have taken great pleasure in. Keep those creative juices flowing.

Excellent progress-keep it up!

Congratulations!

You look beautiful and amazing-congratulations on your success and your daughter's wedding!

I'm literally right behind you on December 2. Eating is work right now. It is odd not being hungry and not really having any cravings…some things are more appetizing than others but not very much on the craving front. I know this lasts different lengths of time for different people and I will ride it as long as I can.…

I know you must be discouraged, but keep pressing forward. I am only down 10 lbs, all in the first week and have also been battling discouragement. However, you have been disciplined throughout this process and that discipline will put you in good stead moving forward. Exercising in a cold climate is challenging I'm sure…

I have started doing a barre class-kind of a cross between pilates, ballet, and yoga. I'm sure there will be an uptick at the beginning of the year, but doubt it will be at the level of the gyms. I have decided on that in place of a personal trainer because you get some of the benefits (a good bit of resistance/strength…

By moderate activity I mean walking 1 mile a day during the week, 2.5 on weekends, 2 barre classes/week, and taking stairs at work-about 16 flights/day.

Everyone looks amazing! I have so enjoyed looking through the before/during/afters-very encouraging!

Mango has a (I think it is) a farina crepe recipe that she uses for wraps…she has shared it before-maybe she will share again?
-
I have been adding 1/2 cup butter to my snacks, which gets the mfp cops off by calorie back! I take perverse pleasure in this nonexistent butter every day.

Baskin Robbins has a no sugar ice cream in coconut pineapple that is aMaZinG! Not bad for an occasional treat.

And you look beautiful!

Welcome home! Every day will be better than the one before. Just keep working at it, little by little, sip by sip, step by step.

Thanks all. I am feeling much better about all this today. It is almost over-get to move to soft foods next week. I went in to this with the mindset that this stage was just my medicine that I would have to take and that's pretty much it. And, in the grand scheme of things, its really not that bad, if bad at all. I…

Beautiful!

Love it! I have not been taking my bp meds since surgery 2.5 weeks ago and bp has been stellar! Very weird to me because, like you, hypertension runs in my family, skinny or heavy. I am looking forward to surprise benefits as this goes along!

You're going to rock this! Sip, walk, rest, repeat. Hope to hear from you soon.
-
So happy for you! It sounds like all the work you put in pre-op is paying off in buckets and buckets! I love following your journey and am excited for where it will take you.
-
Hope surgery has gone well and wishing you a speedy recovery!

Thaeda-again, thank you so much for sharing your journey. I have become very mindful and intentional about what and how I eat but….I can only hope to get where you are with this one day. I admire so much your ability to reflect and apply. I may have said this before (in fact I probably have), but my mantra in most areas of…

Oh my gosh, busting out laughing! Thank you all so much-the laughter has been wonderful (even if a little ouch-inducing)!

My very first nsv-kinda odd….went into the OR in a bariatric hospital gown, woke up in a regular one. Not really an nsv I suppose as one could say I may not have needed the larger gown in the first place…but as the regular one just fit, I'll take it ;)

- Is this like-these are not the droids you're looking for…Jedi master mind tricks!

Sadly no hallucination! Though thank you for the laugh. No-at about week four of liquids-2 pre-op, 1 week post-op clears, now into 2 more weeks full. Yay!!!!!!

Pat-I am so sorry you are in such a difficult place right now. You have made such incredible progress over the last couple of years and, as you say, you have always been a slow loser. I can imagine the frustration that has caused but you are in a MUCH better place than at the beginning of your journey. I wish I had words…

This looks amazing Rob. I'm thinking a poached egg on top would be delicious. Thanks for sharing.
