Working out is for fitness. Eating below your TDEE is for weight loss. I enjoy mindless cardio as well as strength training.

I'm not familiar with that one, but most DVD workouts can be logged under Circuit training in the Cardio section.

Hi, Congrats on the 60lb loss! That's fantastic. I took a look at your diary and you have some consistent quick add calorie entries in there. I know that trying to figure out homemade recipes is time consuming, but the recipe builder function here could help a lot with that. Plus it would give you more accurate data across…

I love finding a recipe and realizing I already have everything I need to make it. Dinner!

Oh and there are some scam/advertisement posts that occasionally push a real person's post down on the list, but the moderators will take care of those. If you don't get a response in a reasonable amount of time, you can always go into your post and just reply with "Bump". That will push your post back up to the top of a…

Hi Emma, and welcome. There is a thread you should check out. Under Getting Started in the forums, look at the "Guide to your sexy pants" thread. There are a lot of links in there, but it's a really great starting point to understand some of the basics you will need. Setting your macros, calorie goals, etc. After that,…

Oh and no, that doesn't mean you do all of them in one exercise session. It's just a list of exercises to consider.

Ok, gotcha. This is going to be long... There is a program called You Are Your Own Gym. Aside from any impact type moves that may aggravate your leg, you can try some of those exercises to change things up a bit. And you may initially bulk a bit when starting weights, but that is just from your muscles holding onto water.…

Yup, My hands almost always swell when I'm exercising. When doing the cardiio, try to be conscious of where your hands are. Unless you are doing a specific cardio move, try to keep your elbows bent at 90 degrees. It seems to help my hands not swell so much if they aren't hanging straight down.

I don't mean any of these questions to be offensive, but I can't make a lot of sense out of what you are saying. Looks like you only had 20 pounds to lose to start with and want to lose the last 7. If you are doing Herbalife for 2 meals a day and have a meat and veggies dinner and a protein bar for snack, how are you…

Log the whole dvd time under circuit training in the Cardio portion. Any dvd that has both cardio and strength or bodyweight type exercises fit under circuit training.

Ditto what Jim said. I'm also weak upper body and it took a month or more before I was able to feel progression in my strength. Give it time. Just keep on going and challenge yourself a little bit. Try moving your feet out just a bit for the first set, so they aren't right below your butt. Then do the other two sets with…

Good luck! Be confident and relaxed.

Coffee itself does not generally affect weight loss. It's what's added to the coffee that has to be accounted for. If you drink it black, that shouldn't be a problem. But if the only way you can drink coffee is with creamer, try different ones (or milk) that will limit the amount of calories you are drinking.

You have a lot going on there. You might want to give your body a full rest day or two during the week.

^^This - was going to say the same thing.

I'm not necessarily doing low carb, but I am doing lower carb. I limit myself to 100 carbs a day, but haven't gone over about 60 so far.

Welcome back and good luck on your AGAIN. Just remember how good it felt when you were losing the last time and let that motivate you to get on track.

One step. One little bitty baby step and you start the journey of your life. You've got this. All the ups and downs that will come. You. Will. Have. This.

If they are excuses, then only you can find the ways to overcome those. But...if you really don't enjoy any part of running or jogging, would it really be that bad to just accept it? Yeah, that means giving up on the triathalon dream. Would you be a failure if that happens?

When you get closer to your goal, the weight loss will slow down. A 1lb a week loss is probably a bit much for you. Give yourself some more time. 10 days might seem a long time with no loss, but it isn't really that long.

If it's painful to walk and has started swelling, then yes it needs to be checked out. Better to have it checked, and it just turn out to be some modification of your running or maybe your shoes. In the meantime, ice it.
