Hi I was diagnosed with T2 last year and basically ignored it for several months, which obviously didn't help. So now I am trying to get my numbers under control and so far not doing too well. I'm trying to relearn what to eat and watching carbs. I recently started going to the gym too and am hoping to maybe lose enough…

Hi and welcome! You've made the right choice for yourself, just remember it is for you and no one else. You can do this! It won't always be easy, but you will fee such accomplishment in yourself. That and the health you gain make this worth the journey. Everyone here is very supportive and helpful! If you're on Facebook…

I eat what I want, which most days is actually much healthier just given the fact that I don't want to eat my days worth of calories in one meal, but like last night, I had Taco Bell and even had enough calories to enjoy a Baja Blast Freeze. This morning I'm down 1.1 lbs :)

No you are not! I have to be working out or super hot to drink plain water and then it has to be super cold! Otherwise, I have learned to love Mio and Crystal light...it's the only way I can do it. I figure with Crystal light the 10 calories for a full packet is still better than the 290 from a 20 oz Mountain Dew that I…

I'm with ya! I have fought my weight my whole life, up and down like a rollercoaster. I had a hysterectomy when I was 28 (44 now) and gained afterwards with the hormones. I took myself off of them and maintained, but then started gaining a bit more. I am down almost 30 now and still fighting the good fight. I have finally…

Hello ladies. I am 44, married for 25 years and have two kids (23 and 18). I am post menopausal due to a hysterectomy back at age 28 and stopped taking the hormones years ago due to the weight gain. Suffered through the hot flashes etc and now actually do pretty well with those symptoms. I never have lost the weight though…

^^^This is also what I have found works best. Your meals from MFP will carry over to Up. I also use the "Map my fitness" app a lot for logging workouts etc and have that linked to both MFP and my Up.

It sounds to me like given the amount you're working out and only eating 1200 calories a day that your body is likely in starvation mode. Figure out your BMR and TDEE and then subtract 20%. You need to eat at the very minimum your BMR as that is the minimum that your body needs to function. In my case that's 1417 a…

I go to Anytime and love them! Nice facilities, good equipment, friendly and helpful staff. I feel very comfortable there, which for me says something. I've been to gyms before that quite honestly if you were even slightly overweight you were an outcast. I've not felt that at Anytime at all. That said, could just be the…

Totally agree! I weigh myself twice a day and I have learned what my normal gain through the day is, my average water weight etc. I think it really helps keeps me on track.
