Sorry, you lost me there. What is brocolli slaw?
-
No, courgettes are what you would call zucchini. Tabbouleh sounds good, got a nice recipe?
-
That's possible! I have a nice lettuce ready for harvesting.
-
So do I, also I eat vegetarian and meat and fish

I am looking for recipes that are manageable without food processors or microwaves or fancy expensive equipment I can't afford in money or kitchen space. My kitchen is very small and has minimum machinery other than chopping boards, good knives, wooden spoons, whisks etc. Also an electric kettle and a gas stove.…

Where do you find the group?
-
They also had a Hay Box Cooker or just buried food in the embers of the fire

I could do with some ideas for (less than 250 calorie) lunch that I can reheat/cook at work for lunch. Cannot be anything too smelly like garlic or fish and I'm not keen on salad.
-
Mmmm! I can taste that already! Haddock is a common fish around here and I'd cook that in a covered cast iron pan. We do have George Foreman grills here, but why bother with more machinery when I have a decent cast iron (non stick naturally) frying pan

It's an ideal, not a dogma. I eat butter, yet that's processed. The difference being I can make butter at home, but I would defy any ordinary cooks to make margarine in a normal kitchen. I eat bread out of many grains, also white flour I get from a local watermill, where they seive it before packaging. I don't call that…

You are welcome to eat chemicals, even better eat LOADS of them. I choose not to, that's all.
-
Sounds good, but not currently available at my local shops. I eat bread btw!
-
It's a bit early for squash here yet, but I could try this with courgettes which always seem to come in droves. My squash will be ready next month, sweetcorn the month after.
-
I use parchment paper to get the same result as I can put that in the compost after. Thanks for the ideas. Please keep them coming.

Frozen fish is usually the best option away from the coast, but as I live in a very good market town the fish caught last night is on my plate the next evening!

Yum! Friend request sent

Lol! My blender is inherited, so maybe my age would have been a good place to start! I stand by what I first typed, now stop nit picking both of you, you're getting boring
-
 It's the ingredients and method of producing them that's important to me. I don't use a micrawave but I do use an electric kettle so no hard and fast rules. I just try to eat a more natural diet without a chemical overload. And the food has to TASTE good. Ben&Jerry's included and excluded
-
I'm sure my nan used a stove and a grill

An ordinary kitchen using ITEMS our ancestors would recognised. Check for sentence construction before putting typing fingers in gear  I still use my grandmothers saucepans!
-
I had a lovely meal planned last night only for my other half telling me he was taking me out to the pictures! So a 3 scoop Ben and Jerry's it was then.  The loss of my dinner wasn't missed!

Thanks. I eat salt, so salt it is!
-
What is string cheese made from? Sounds well processed ....
-
What is Mrs Dash?
-
I looked at the "clean eating" brigade, but that's a bit too faddy for me. Our ancestors ate white bread, just not at every meal! So my ideal is to try to avoid overprocessed food, eat things with an ingredient list I recognise and is in season if possible. As I'm in the UK, some of the suggestions will be a bit…

I seem to be eating chicken most days :( Gone off it a bit. Also organic free range is very expensive and I try not to eat factory farmed anything.

Hi everyone. I'm an active 60 yr old tea drinker living in the UK. Feel free to add me if you think we could motivate each other.

Luckee_me - Yours is hidden .... Just realised that the diary is only visible to friends ... doh!

I would love to share my diary, but having chosen to hide it when I started, I can't seem to find the setting to un-hide it. Please tell me how....
