dailymail.co.uk/health/article-4531288/What-NEVER-tell-hip-operations.html This is the reason I wanted to have a different op. The supercapsule op doesn't depend on you being thin. I was up and mobile without pain actually in the operating theatre before I went to the recovery room where I woke up again(!) The operation…

My friend - who weighs over 14 stone - had the anterior op this year at the same hospital I went to. It's not just for low weight peeps. It's just not for really obese peeps - 18 stone etc.

I've just returned from my 6 weeks post op appointment. My hip is positioned totally correctly and my legs are equal lengths. "See you again in 10 months" !

I had 3 opinions before I settled on my surgeon. The other 2 were well respected surgeons with a good record, but they wouldn't (were not practiced enough) do the op I wanted. The anterior op is a good op in the right hands. If your surgeon won't do it, that means he hasn't learnt it well. Nothing more than that. Change…

Swim. It's the best thing.Try swimming using only your arms. It's a great workout. I am 5 weeks on after a total hip replacement and I was digging in the garden on Wednesday. I can run up a flight of stairs, do squats and lift weights again. Research your op. The one I had was a variation on the SuperPath Where do you…

I am just waiting for my operation date, it's going to be in around 6 weeks time. I've always been very fit, but the last 3 months have been very painful and caused me to stop exercising my legs. I still lift weights from a sitting position and could use some advice on how to keep my fitness levels up for the next 6 weeks.

I'm at 1480. Clean eater, wrong age group but I'm inventive! Message me if you want to join my friends list

I have salads a few times a week, so I'm fairly sure of my quantities of protein. Egg is a better option than cheese as a 40 gram portion, a small matchbox size, is nearly 200 calories, so it's very easy to overdo the cheese. Fish is also a good add to salads as is avocado, and a few nuts, seeds. A spoonful of pasta and…

In England, UK. Send me a message and I'll add you. My diary is public. As is my profile. :)

I am almost at goal weight and am an avid cook from the west mids, so feel free to ask me if you wish. I would like more friends with open diaries and a desire to change to help along the way.

My, oh my! Eat about 100 apples all in a day? My stomach would rupture!!!!!
-
Well. as I am in the UK, we seem to have different terms for so many things. The ham I buy doesn't seem to be listed and the counter staff never know the calorie count.

There's a wonderful book published in the UK by Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall called Hugh Fearlessly Eats It All. Written by a cook, it's a marvellously informative book about the food industry. Very funny and informative. The chapter where he tries to recreate a Big Mac in his kitchen is a classic. Read it if you can!

Google Shiritake noodles. Here's one to start with - http://livinlavidalowcarb.com/blog/livin-la-vida-shirataki-recipe-contest-finalist-1-shirataki-noodle-pudding/838

No they are not identical. An apple, having far more fibre, is digested at a slower rate. Yes, you need to eat all food groups, but sense tells me that what I used to eat to get fat is not what is best for my future. So no Twinkies, more apples!

Crackers and cheese with grapes on the side. You can then choose a variety of low fat or standard cheeses and portion control will sort out the rest.

Dry fry some cumin seeds in a large skillet, add about 100ml of water, add your raw cauliflower rice and cook gently for about 5 mins, turning the mix over frequently. Add chopped coriander leaf and serve with a spicy curry!

I like waking the dead and silent witness. Bloodthirsty I am!

I use organic Scottish stoneground oatmeal which in itself has bags of flavour. Steel cut would be your closest in the US, I think. I soak the oatmeal overnight with a pinch of salt, bring to the boil next morning, stirring all the time. Reduce the heat for a couple of minutes, then serve with either a small teaspoon of…

I use shiritaki noodles all the time, but I find they taste best when used with ingredients with a full on flavour, like pasta sauce (tomato based), chilli, curry powder or paste. I think yoghurt and ricotta would be too bland

Grilled vine tomato on BUTTERED toast, with marmite. Or traditional stoneground (steelcut outside the UK) Scottish oats, soaked overnight in water and cooked briefly next morning. You DO NOT have to cook porridge overnight. The Scots have cooked their oats like this for centuries.

Feel free to add me. My diary is public. I prepare and grow a lot of what I eat, just add a message with the request, that's all I ask :)

That's a very specific problem you have. Thankfully most of us don't have your huge challenges. We do have our own though. Everyone of us is different and in general, it's possible to diet and still feel full.

How many fresh chillies is that then? And what type? I can source 10 different chilli powders around me. It gets confusing :(
-
It certainly does. My mouth's watering! I like the fact that it's made from individual naturally occuring ingredients, apart from the 2 sauces which are usually obtainable everywhere. It works out to 285 calories per serving :-D :-D :-D I get frustrated by recipes which use items available in your location, but not mine.…
