For the past couple of weeks i've been regularly getting up and walking the exterior of my building. It's less than 200 steps, but doing that 7 or 8 times a day, plus parking at the far end of my lot, and then a short 10 minute walk once or twice a day. I don't count this extra activity as "exercise", i'm just trying to…

OP, do you plan to give us recipes or was this just a tease??!
-
No, not currently. I made this suggestion not long ago in the suggestions forum, i'd love to have this feature.

A few years ago I had egg salad made with scallions from the deli counter where I work. So simple but sooo delicious! I will NEVER make it any other way!

I love these stories! I was in the middle of a 3 week Daniel Fast when I fell and broke my foot. Because I live upstairs it was difficult for me to get around and my friend and her husband opened their home to me for a few days until I was more confident on my ability to get up and down the stairs. They both changed their…

I love What we eat Wednesday's! Breakfast - Kashi Heart to Heart with banana and lowfat milk Lunch - Stouffer's Fit Kitchen Sweet and Spicy Meatballs, steamed broccoli and cauliflower Dinner - Stuffed Peppers My Way with ground turkey added Snacks - Sweet Tango apple, and probably a biscotti or toast for dessert

So far today i've had a Sweet Tango apple. I'll probably have a low sodium V8 later.

Thank you, i'm glad I didn't make a trip to get it. Thanks for the link, i'll check it out!

I recently discovered Baked Oatmeal. I make it with smashed banana, milk, toasted pecans, cinnamon and nutmeg. It's a really delicious change. Just google it and you'll find tons of recipes. Here's a basic how-to: https://epicurious.com/recipes-menus/no-recipe-required-baked-oatmeal-breakfast-article

Do you have that a link to that recipe by any chance? It sounds delicious!
-
If only it were that easy! (I checked and nada)

I get that. There will for sure be other items that I would probably buy while i'm there, but yeah, the impetus to go is that rice.

Thank you for the ideas! I do have farro in my cupboard right now, but this just looks so yummy...and easy

I've been wanting to try it, but it has 5 times the sodium as beef and I watch my sodium.

There's nothing wrong with not pre-soaking your beans before using a crock pot. As long as you give them a good rinse first, they're fine. I just made a batch of jalapeno pintos myself, didn't soak, came out fine.

Roasted Edamame seeds are good. You get a pretty decent sized serving for 100 cals. Emerald natural almonds are also good, and you can find them in single serving 100 cal portions. ' Bananas are also very filling, or sometimes just a serving of V-8 will be enough to hold me over.

Best Foods makes a great light mayo, only 35 cals per tablespoon.

That's my question, what does taste change mean?
-
My anecdotal experience is that cutting out artificial sweeteners made a difference in my ability to taste the sweetness of sugar. And like a previous poster stated, it didn't happen after 4 days, it was gradual over the course of a few months. I've never tried cutting out real sugar, never felt the need. It was the…

This week I prepped potsticker bowls. Rice/cauliflower blend topped with broccoli and Trader Joe's Chicken Potstickers.

I cook every day but I do some basic prep on the weekends to make the weeknight cooking easier and faster. So i'll come up with a general meal plan for the week and then buy and prep the ingredients on Sunday. I'll do things like chop vegetables and prepare ingredients that take longer to cook, so that during the week I…

Mine is open for all to creep. No need to be "friends" to see it ;)

Oh man I could eat my weight in triscuits!
-
Banana, Nature Valley protein granola, and a drizzle of honey.

I love Smart Made Rosemary Grilled Beef and Vegetables, I also love the Eating Well Beef Stroganoff. And you can't go wrong with Trader Joes frozen entrees, most are really good. The frozen mac and cheese (not the reduced guilt) is the best frozen mac and cheese on the market, imo. I will frequently eat these for lunch…

If you really can't stomach extra food, you could try drinking some calories. Things like fruit juice can have as much as 120cals per serving.

Bursitis or tendonitis perhaps?

Corn and cucumber salad! My own version of a friend's recipe. Diced cucumber, roasted corn cut from the cob (or frozen/boiled), diced red onion, feta cheese, dressed with olive oil and red wine vinegar. Salt and pepper to taste. I dice mine up fairly small, but you can do it any way you prefer. My friend puts olives in…

I will often pre-portion my servings and freeze the portion individually. So to determine the calories I use the recipe builder and set how many portions my recipe made. The last batch of chili I made was 8 servings that I froze in ziploc baggies.

I sometimes do, moreso because I don't like the dry taste/mouthfeel that bagged lettuce can sometimes have.
