3 days is my max, I can taste a difference after 3 days. It's not that it's gone bad, just that it doesn't taste fresh anymore.

OMG yes. Tastes like how I imagine dirty dishwater would taste.

I enjoyed my day immensely! I'm trying to take a more balanced approach to weight loss, and consider a one-off day of overeating a luxury to be enjoyed rather than a sinful act to be punished. So I ate and I played and I swam and I laid around, and just had fun! And I ate all the food! Today is back to my regularly…

Proud of myself that I got up and did my mile even with the holiday today. 7/3 - 1m 7/4 - 1m

Help with what? You know what's causing it, period water weight gain. What other help do you need?

I'll join! I'm not a runner, but i'm trying to get back into walking. I'm going to keep a running total: 7/3 - 1m

I tried Zumba one time and hated it, but in hindsight that might have had more to do with the instructors than the type of exercise. I actually love dancing, but I admit I do tend to like my workouts to be asexual. I tend to not enjoy classes that use motivators like "shake you booty, girls!" ...blech. I also felt left…

Spaghetti squash. Ridiculously low in calories but high in volume.

Coffee is the only thing I drink every day without fail. And bananas are a 4-5 day/week food. Other than that, i rarely eat the same food more than 3 or 4 days in a row. Sometimes it's more varied than that, even. I get bored with food repetition.

Spaghetti squash, a lot of volume for few calories.

Right?! And they only charge $0.99/lb, so two stalks cost like a quarter!

Every time I weigh in, which works out to every two to three weeks, depending on if I can access the scale in the health office at work. I'm currently losing at a rate of 1.5 pounds a week on 1600-1700 cals with no exercise, so I think i'll adjust that when the weight loss slows. Or add daily walk.

I've had this done before. They cut it, gave me half and just wrapped up the second half and put it out for sale. I frequently ask the produce people to cut my winter squash in half for me too. And the grocery store by my house sells celery by the stalk, which is AWESOME. I can never use up an entire bunch before it goes…

That's awesome, congrats on making that mental jump! That's what's been a revelation for me this time around also, and it's such a sense of freedom and control. Well done!

OP, I know how you feel, my brain sometimes wants to trick me, too. It's usually a fleeting thought, but if I dwell on that fleeting thought, it can turn into panic and fear. When that thought happens, i just keep reminding myself to trust the calories. It's truly a matter of CICO, so I just repeat to myself, "trust the…

I made a chipotle chicken wrap for lunch today and made my own version of chipotle aioli using light mayo, chipotle tobasco, and a splash of milk. Soooo good and only 35ish cals per tablespoon.

I haven't read this entire thread yet, so I hope i'm not repeating something... But I read an article about a celebrity who used to eat her meals nude in front of a mirror as a way to keep from overeating.

Love it. I like most leafy greens, but sometimes I just love the watery crunch of iceburg. It's not nutritionally void at all. No, it's not a powerhouse, but it's not worthless either.

Same here. And yep, i'm still on the meds. But I would be worse off if I didn't control my sodium as well. I have an annoying HBP symptom of a whooshing sound in my right ear when my BP is high, and when I eat high sodium the whooshing gets worse. So I have a strong motivation to keep it low! It's definitely worth a shot,…

I've always wanted to try them, but they're hard to find around here. Plus I wouldn't even know how to choose one or how to eat it! How do you know when it's ripe? And what type are the best?

I'm down 42 pounds with just dietary changes, no exercise. I am losing on 1700 cals. I heard once that "weightloss happens in the kitchen, and fitness happens in the gym", so I don't stress about exercise just now as fitness is not my primary goal at this moment.

I was advised to follow the DASH diet a few years ago when I was diagnosed with high blood pressure. The diet guidelines that I received included a recommended 1500mg/day of sodium, which I generally still try to follow. It's a very healthy way of eating, and it did help get my BP under control. I'm a bit looser in my…

Yeah, that was a surprise to me, too. It even happens with frozen entrees. I had an amy's frozen meal bowl the other night that was fully 10+ grams more than what the box stated. It might have been close to 25 grams more, but I don't remember exactly.

5 months and 40 pounds

Red Vines...lots of them

No pics but today I had a Cascadian Farm Protein Honey Roasted Nut Bar and a Skyr Raspberry yogurt.
