I would be tempted but the impossible burger has 6 times the amount of sodium that regular beef does. Eating fast food is already a big sodium hit for someone with salt sensitivity so it's a no for me. Too bad because i'd totally try it otherwise.

I totally thought this was going to be about a pasta and sauce recipe for bachelors.

I haven't read the entire thread so this may be a repeat, but I like triscuits and cottage cheese. Nothing added. I usually like the plain triscuits, but a flavored variety would be good also.

I calculate calories using the uncooked weight, then portion it using the cooked weight.

For me, 3 days is max. It gets a funny tasted to me after 3 days. It's not gone bad though, just tastes different.

Baked oatmeal with bananas, cinnamon and nutmeg. Tastes like baked french toast, so good.

#3 I don't really like dark meat so it's a waste for me to buy them.

Maybe i'll try something sugary, i've been trying to make the snacks high in protein because that's usually how I would deal with a low blood sugar issue. But maybe a sugary snack might help? I'll try anything at this point!
-
That's a good strategy, thanks. I've been trying to keep to the same foods and snacks as usual, but last night I went over by more than 1000 cals on all my low calorie snacks!
-
Yes, that's what it feels like! Like my blood sugar is crashing, and I get that shaky feeling. It's horrible!

You might want to be aware that many pre-packaged foods don't weigh the same as their serving size suggests. For example, I bought some flour tortillas once that had a weight in grams for a single tortilla, but when I weighed the tortilla it weighed a full 30% more than the package claimed.

This is the what I got too. In fact, my weight and goal was exactly the same as yours. It didn't ask any questions to differentiate between short term and long term goals, so it's a little misleading.

I sometimes double my dinner and bring the leftovers for lunch the next day.

My recent favorite is baked oatmeal with nutmeg, cinnamon, and pecans.

Mine is open. I don't generally accept friend requests but my diary is open to anyone. Lurk to your hearts content.

I find their frozen chicken tenderloins a must have for my freezer!

Good to know, thanks for the info!

Same for me. I'm up 11 pounds as of Sunday. I'm back on the wagon starting yesterday. I probably won't weigh in again for a week or two, so i'm not sure how fast i'll drop some of the water weight.

My favorite swap is low fat greek yogurt for sour cream. I don't know if I could swap zucchini for pasta, but I do like spaghetti squash in place of pasta.
-
As long as you wash it, I would think it's fine.

I gained a few pounds over the holidays, but i'm back at it today and ready to go! Breakfast - coffee, baked banana oatmeal with cinnamon, nutmeg and pecans Lunch - ground turkey and sweet potato skillet (minus the cheese) and sauteed shredded brussels sproutshttps://primaverakitchen.com/ground-turkey-sweet-potato-skillet/…

Have you tried cottage cheese? A cup of low fat cottage cheese can add approximately 25g of protein for about 200 calories. If you're really set on adding yogurt, you might try Skyr, it's slightly less tangy (to me, anyway)

Breakfast: Pumpkin baked oatmeal and coffee with Italian Sweet Cream Creamer Snack: lowfat raspberry skyr Lunch: Small-ish cheese sandwich Snack: TBD - probably something sweet Dinner: TBD again Possibly pasta with italian sausage I have been so busy lately that I haven't had much time for food prep/planning, so i've been…

Nope, not even close to perfect. Totally soulless. Now here's the best Christmas song ever: https://youtube.com/watch?v=F7u7L9FlI48

I found this outstanding noodle-less butternut squash lasagne recipe that i've been eating for the past week. Takes a bit of work but totally worth it. And relatively low calorie for a generous portion if you use low fat dairy products and skip the bechamel.…

I typically skip dessert on thanksgiving because it's always pie of some sort, and i'm not a big fan. But this year it's at my dad's house and I usually like everything i'm served there, so just the pie, most likely.

3oz of chicken breast with a pile of veg. Either that or be ok with going slightly over and having a smaller deficit for the day. In the future maybe try pre-logging your food to prevent this scenario from repeating itself.

You can probably find most of these canned foods in no salt added versions. I think just the green chilis and the taco seasoning are not available as no salt added. But if you can sub a homemade taco seasoning as well, then all you'll be facing is the sodium from the canned chilis, which will be quite reasonable when…

Oh my gosh, I learned this lesson of sticking eggs last week! I thought I had sprayed the muffin tin enough, but wow, I had to scrape them out! My recipe (first time I made muffin cups) was Ore Ida O'brien potatoes, crumbled cooked sausage, and cheddar cheese, then enough egg to cover up to the rim of the cups. They came…

+ditto on the sour cream substitute. I have fully replaced my sour cream usage with greek yogurt, 100% of the time. One of my favorite things is to make a chipotle dressing using the yogurt, chipotle tobasco, and a little milk to thin it out. I'll drizzle it over omlettes, salads, rice/bean bowls...sooo good. If you want…
