Cross Training Day for me 8) A strong core will help along with any strength training. Yoga has done wonders for me in opening my hips and stretching my quads and ham's...no more hip pains when running.

I overpronate also. Was in Brooks Ravenna 5's...Most comfortable shoe I've had. With no sew'n material in the toe box, it's very stretchy. Now in Saucony's Grid 7's, finally worked in and just as comfy, oh and very "Bling" LOL.

Nice job. My goal has was to just complete as it is my 1st one. Then decided on a goal of 3 hours then a new goal of 2 1/2. Now with my training runs and 3 months away I'm curious if I can get under 2 hours. But I'm not pushing it to hard to try, as my main goal now is to beat my brothers 1/2 time, I'm twice his age but…

Ya I run the treadmill during the winter, it's pretty cold up here in Canada. I just put on my headphones on and go :)

I gotta get into swimming for cross training.

I've come to embrace the treadmill :D If I didn't I would be running in the winter. I find it helps with the speed work.
-
10k run tonight, under an hour, not to shabby for an "old" guy.

My knees got extremely sore when on roads like that.

Training schedule called for 5k today.

Yes definitly get fitted properly. I have slight overpronation so i bought some Brooks Ravenna 5's, they now have 700+km on them and am in new Saucony Grid 7's. As for IT band syndrome, I also dealt with that on some runs. I found foam rolling the IT band helps alot, before and after my runs, short or long.
