I have completely given up bread, apart from the very occasional pitta which I use as a base for mini pizzas when I really need a pizza fix. But no sandwiches, rolls, toast, garlic bread or anything like that at all. I have also completely given up booze - used to drink wine like a fish - but now I don't touch it.

I live on the south coast of England and sometimes take for granted what a lovely area this is. just been away on a business trip 'up north' as we say around here. Although the countryside was nice up there and the town etc. we were in was ok, I wouldn't want to live there. Coming back home on the train across London was…

There's loads of us from the UK on here.

You have to be patient with it Beanogirl - it doesn't work miracles over night - but using an exfoliater mitt (or yes body brush) and then rubbing in the the oil consistently, all over (a little goes a very long way and it lasts for ages) and the improvement in skin tone really starts to show after a few weeks - at least…

To be honest, this is my biggest worry. I am similar age to you and I look younger than my years at the moment - partly due to the fact that I'm 'plump' which definitely does iron out the wrinkles somewhat. Ideally need to lose another 30lb but I am terrified of sagginess - particularly my boobs, belly, upper arms .. which…

It's beginning to dawn on me that this really is the long haul. I knew it, or thought I did, but then I found myself getting impatient and disheartened when the weight didn't simply drop off me from the getgo. I have made such incredible changes to my life compared to how I used to be .. and I thought the results would be…

I did 'Slimming World' a couple of years back and on their plan you could eat as much pasta as you liked. Just the pasta that is - not the sauces/cheese or whatever that goes with it. I could never get my head around that - how it could be unlimited on their plan and classed as a 'free food' but it is? You have to follow…

Yes! I know exactly the feeling you describe and it's the weirdest thing. Fullness and hunger at the same time. I don't notice it so much during the day but after I've eaten my dinner I get it quite often in the early evening. I know I'm full because of the amount I've eaten but the sensation in my gullet is one of hunger.…

'CHUFFER' is also part of the anatomy - as in 'up the chuffer'!

Many thanks for the reply.

I've never really had a goal before - and If I did it was completely unrealistic in terms of how much weight I wanted to lose and how fast. Now I am determined to reach my goal which is 35lb - 42lbs lighter than I currently am. I've never been so determined in my life. I know it's going to take time, and I know what I have…

Only been doing the diary for two days and on both days it's noticeable how low my iron is. I am well under the daily requirement, and as a vegetarian this is a little worrying. I'm going to try and up the amount of iron rich foods I eat and see if I can correct it with diet, but if not I am going to take a supplement.

Well done mate you look great.

Oh sweetheart, I find that story so poignant. So very sorry to hear you lost both your mum and dad, and such a sweet thing of them to do to go and buy it for you knowing you liked it so much. You will wear that shirt, I'm sure of it!

You go girl! You look fantastic!

At the moment I'm like a kid with a new toy. Already after just one day, seeing what I eat laid out in front of me and broken down into calories, fat, protein, sugar and so on has been a revelation. Something I was nibbling away on as a 'healthy' snack was laden with fat, something else with a huge amount of sodium and I…

I'm early 50s and need to lose three stone, but have set myself a slightly lesser target of 36lbs for the time being. I've never successfully lost weight and kept it off for any length of time, so this time I'm doing it properly, slowly but surely and hopefully making some lifestyle changes along the way. I'm 'darn sarf'…

I used to have a serious wine habit and by that I mean three sometimes four bottles a week! I could do a bottle and a half in a night no problem (even thought I'd feel like crap the next day), and though I didn't drink every day - I would drink two/three times a week and it was never a glass, but always a bottle and maybe…

I'm a lifelong vegetarian - couldn't stomach 'f'lesh' as a kid and have eaten neither meat or fish all my life, but I love dairy and couldn't imagine a world without cheese. The official term for us I think is 'lacto-vegetarians'. When I was growing up, being a vegetarian was akin to being a martian and I was looked upon…

I'll be your friend Terri! I only signed up yesterday myself and already I am starting to feel at home here.

I started yoga classes earier in the year and I absolutely love it. I was doing just one class a week to start, but this week I started going to a second class, and also try and do some at home on my own most days, especially now I am trying to tackle my weight. It's strange how it goes, but some weeks I find it quite…
