Welcome to twonderland!

261.5 this morning. In spite of my Indian pig out yesterday, I squeaked in on my latest goal. I know I didn't weigh in last week, but this group really is helping keep me on track!
-
The size is definitely the most challenging part for me!
-
I'm sure it took me over my calories for the day! :drinker: And totally worth it, too. But it would be nice to have some sort of idea . . . Also, it's been good for me to learn about posting pictures, which I apparently suck at.
-
I get it now, thanks, but apparently need to keep resizing the picture down. Thanks again! (can't believe I used to write HTML code back in the day . . .)
-
You did it (and I uploaded it WAY too big, I see), but what did you do?
-
Yep, looked at that one, too. I made a photobucket account and uploaded the picture. I copied the URL and pasted it. I added the <img> tags, making sure they weren't uppercase. Don't know what else there is.
-
I searched on "how to post pictures" and am trying what I can from there.

Next year is coming no matter what you do. When it gets here, how do you want to feel? How do you want to feel tomorrow, next week, next month? Start now. Deal with now.
-
Then what's the point?

Looks like even more tun than the Warrior Dash--I hope they start doing more of them around the country!

My husband is allergic to poultry. No chicken, no chicken broth, no Thanksgiving turkey, and I have to be really careful about reading ingredient lists. Luckily, I can use a boneless pork chop for almost anything you can do with a boneless chicken breast. And since the kids don't share that allergy, I can make chicken for…

Definitely not alone! Keep reading the boards, and you'll see how many people have come a long way! Everyone can be a motivator, no matter how much they've lost.
-
What are your goals? Not your weight goals, your behavior goals. What are you going to do differently TODAY? Today is all you have to worry about right now, and you can totally handle that!

Teaching healthy cooking classes. I'm trying to figure out how to make that happen, so I'm blogging as many of my recipes as I can.

I weighed in this morning at 262.4, much better than I expected. Dinner tonight will be chicken fried rice.and tomorrow I'm experimenting with Pulled Pork in the slow cooker, cuban style black beans, and cilantro lime rice. We'll see how the family likes it!

Snoopy, I have a ways to go before I catch up to your weight, but just finding someone else as tall as we are and about the same age (45 in a few months) is a big plus. Sending you a friend request.

It'll never be settled, because it isn't a "once size fits all" situation. Everyone has to find out what works for them. So far, I don't generally eat back my exercise calories (at least not on purpose, ha). I've lost over 80 pounds since February. I'm open to the possibility that eventually, I'll be eating them back…

Sometimes a gym sounds tempting, but I really love walking. When the weather gets bad, I'll need to figure out something else, but until then, I'm happy at home.

When I hit my "100 miles walked in August" goal, I'm getting $25 worth of new songs from iTunes. Has the extra benefit of making me happier about walking. As I'm losing weight, I'm getting to go "shopping" in my own closet, for clothes that I haven't worn in about 7 years. I'll also have to be buying some new clothes as…

I love Ellie Krieger's books, and the Cook Yourself Thin books.

I like to sew, and have made a couple t-shirt quilts for people. Most of my sewing is for my kids, though.

Nothing weird at all, although I personally would use regular eggs.

(raises hand) Walking is almost all I do. When I started, I was doing about 2.5 miles per hour. Now I'm up to 3.25 mph most times, sometimes faster. For me, walking has the added benefit of being a huge stress reliever, so I'm also less likely to binge. You should do what you love, because that's what you'll stick with.

The reply that comes to my mind is, "Yeah, I know--I look BETTER!!" The best part of that is that it's certainly true; you look even better in person because that's when your personality really shines through.

I look at my clothes and know I swim in them. I try on old clothes that are much closer to fitting now than even a few months ago. I compare old pictures to newer ones, and think, "Yes, I'm definitely thinner." But I look at myself in the mirror and don't see anything different. It goes the other way, too--when I was at my…

I started where you are about 6 months ago. Baby steps got me this far, and I'm starting to take toddler steps now. You are anything but a failure. You are doing what you need to in order to get where you want. It's not easy, for sure. But once you get there, you'll know you earned it all the way.

Great thread! I love to cook, and am trying to make healthier things for myself and my family. My latest this is a kind of Middle East Panzanella, with tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, chickpeas, parsley, red wine vinegar & olive oil, with crumbled pita chips on top. One of my goals is to post on my blog (see sig) every day…

Wonderful! Mackinac is a gorgeous place! You'll be able to get lots of walking and biking in --no cars allowed on the island! Also, I've heard that the Grand Hotel does have a dress code; no jeans allowed. My daughter's Girl Scout troop went there last summer and they all made skirts for themselves specifically to wear…
