You could totally be me, and YES, you CAN see a difference! Go, you!

I'm 5'10 and started at 349 pounds. I agree with the suggestion that walking is the way to go to start. You don't have to push hard, but you do have to put the time in. That's OK, though, because you have that time anyway. You've already decided to use it wisely to get healthier!

Fabulous! Bookmarked, and planning to try the "Key Lime Yogurt" for a snack tomorrow.

Thanks you, these look great!

Dude, I LOVE eggs, but that is too many eggs even for me.

Lost 2.9 since last Sunday.

When I'm listening to upbeat, fast music, I walk faster. Also, although my walk isn't unpleasant, it isn't as idyllic as walking on a beach, listening to waves and birds. I never have it so loud that I can't hear what's going on around me.

Like! I've really been wanting to try Gazpacho for a while!

I plan and write in ahead of time, then edit if/when things change. I'm a big planner and list maker, so that is a plus for me.

I get the same thing, and attribute it to muscles reacting to the work.

Black bean salad = YUM.

Can you offer to help cook family meals? If your mom has to feed a bunch of (picky) people on no time and a short budget, boxed foods can seem very appealing. If you put in some time, maybe she'd be more willing to accommodate you.

That's a great blog post!

I've joined. Thanks for starting this!

I have fast food once in a while. Sometimes I'm mindful, and make reasonable choices. Sometimes not. Many fast food places have good salads. I also find that I can get a smaller burger & fries and still be satisfied as opposed to the huge ones. I almost always skip pop.

We've grown vegetables in a tiny plot in the back yard in past years (NOTHING beats a tomato off your own vine!), but this year we just got a few seedlings and I let my 12 year old daughter take over. We'll see what she gets out of her farm!

That's another factor for me as well. I find that if I'm not weighing every day, I'm more likely to slack off. I'm also a big graph geek, so it gives me more data if I weigh every day.

I do pretty much the same as you. I only record my official weigh ins on Thursdays here, but I keep track of my daily weight. I KNOW that weight fluctuates from day to day, so if I see it blip up a bit, even if I've been on track, it doesn't get me down, because I see it blip down just as often, and I always have my…

I got my Secondary Ed certificate about 20 years ago. I'm currently teaching German to individuals who are moving there, or basic computer skills to senior citizens. Love my job!

I'm having that day, that week, that month. Just keeping on with the good choices is all we can do.

Find one of the fitness challenges her on MFP. Honestly, if I wasn't doing the 100 mile challenge here, I would be slacking off.

I was in a huge rush this morning, so just had a bowl of cereal/milk (and a pancake from the stack my daughter made), but I picked up some Chobani Greek yogurt today, so the plan for tomorrow is yogurt with a nectarine & some homemade basic granola for crunch. Other standard breakfasts for me are oatmeal/fruit or loaded…

Yep, I see all of them. Thanks for all your work on this!

When cooking for my whole family, I try to make healthy stuff that they like, and I watch my portions very carefully. Once in a while we'll have a splurge, but on the whole I've found that they enjoy (most of) the same healthy things I like, too. Sometimes I'll cook different things, like pork chops for my husband &…
