Walking! During the summer months I strive to walk or hike at least 100 miles per month @ 3.5 mph or greater. Plus play golf at least once a week. In the winter I try to ski at least 30 times during the season. I'm 67 but feel more like 27!

How about those of us who are over 60? Guess what, it doesn't get any easier. At least my metabolism is the only thing slowing down - 'cause the rest of me sure isn't, thank God!

Check out this week's Target ad. They have an Acer netbook for $249 with a $30 giftcard that will do everything you mentioned.

In Nov 2008, I went for my annual doctor's visit. Showed him pictures of my new 6 mo. old granddaughter. He looked at her and said, "Oh, she's cute. You want to be around in 10 years to play with her?" At the time I was on 3 blood pressure meds, Zocor, and 1000 mg. of metformin for my blood sugar. I weighed 294 lbs. That…

My sleep apneas also stopped when I lost the weight. If a 63 year old man can lose 120 lbs (and keep it off for nearly a year now) just by changing his diet, walking and/or exercising every day for 30 mins-1 hr, and tracking everything on MFP, anyone can!

I am sorry to hear this as my doctor prescribed it for me back in December 2008 and I have been on it since with absolutely no ill effects. I have to see him monthly to get my prescription refilled and have my blood pressure, heart rate, etc. checked. It is not a panacea, but it certainly helped me greatly in losing 120…

Way to go Denise! Keep it up! The walking and better food choices will do it every time!

Nothing beats a good walk, IMO! Except a good walk in a good pair of shoes on a brisk sunny day! Glad you found a good place to walk. Now get an HRM that you can use to check your heart rate and calories burned.

The database entry for "hiking, cross-country", I believe, assumes that you start and finish in the same location and experience both uphill and downhill stretches on your hike or you are hiking on level ground and that you are not carrying a pack. There are 2 other entries in the database for hiking uphill, carrying a…

Bump! this one's slowing down, too. C'mon lets hear what you've lost! For me it's been the amount of trash I've thrown away in a month! LOL! Need to double that, though, if we expect to ever get the house ready to sell! (my wife is a packrat!)

bump! still not to 10,000 lbs.

Move to the Colorado mountains! Overnight low here was 29! Coldest 4th since 1972.  We froze our butts off watching the fireworks over Lake Dillon.

Time for another bump! C'mon folks let's get this up to at least 10,000 lbs!

I love mine!...But NOT enough to have sex with her!

I'm a 63 year old man and have lost 120 pounds since Nov 8 2008 by changing my lifestyle and recording everything on MFP. I went from 294 to 174, as my avatar now shows. My lifestyle change has included daily walking of at least 1 hour, better food choices, staying away from processed sugars as much as possible, eating…
