Thanks for the reply Jellf1sh! Hope you get better soon too! I'm afraid my ban from high impact is for life. I know I will need further operations in the future and the less impact I have on the joints the longer my current op will last before needing a full hip replacement. I'm 26 so need to keep my original, albeit…

Congratulations for getting through it! I wonder if I could ask if you think this whole 12 week programme could be done at home? I have a weight machine but it has no cables and no smith elements to it. I'm hoping I can find alternatives to these steps. Also with the cardio, do you think I would be ok to use a cross…

I'm also wondering about how I am going to get through the cardio as I heard there is some running involved? I have had hip reconstruction in the past so I'm banned from high impact cardio of any sort so do you think working on a cross trainer or walking would be ok? I also don't have have access to the gym so I'm hoping…

Does anyone have any recommendations on what I can do instead of the high impact cardio? I'm basically post hip reconstruction operation and I am forbidden to run or do high impact sports for the rest of my days so would love an alternative?

Hey! I really want to try this programme but not sure if I can even afford all the supplements and the amount of food at the moment. How are you finding the nutrition? Is it easy to prepare for a whole week in one day?

Weights, cycling, swimming! I walked for a couple of hours just with the dogs and family and burned 638 calories! Didn't even feel like that much at all!

Fantastic results! Well done! :)
-
That's certainly great progress! :)
-
Great results! I will be looking forward to sharing my results! :)

Seconded on that! I love banana bread and this recipe looks like it could be a winner! :)

It's not about it being just horse meat. It's about what the horses are medicated with that is so harmful for human consumption. That being said processed foods are harmful for human consumption so why on earth would anybody eat them, horse meat or not?!

Work out your TDEE (Total Daily Energy Expenditure) and try to eat maybe 300-400 cals less than that. This will ensure you can eat less than your daily calorie burn and lose weight steadily and efficiently while keeping your body healthy. Try to eat smaller meals more frequently rather than larger meals 3 times daily.…

Just did my first workout yesterday too! (7th Feb) Feeling it in my lower back and abs mostly and a small amount in my legs. I have had a hip reconstruction and can tell when doing squats the difference in strength from my left hip (the operated side) to my right. I seem to be able to push much easier with my right and can…

Thanks Firefox! :)

No I've only been looking online at the moment, not sure where those types of shops are where I live. I only know big supermarkets! Should really look into it. :)

You have virtually no muscle, get lifting some weights you are doing more damage to your body than you realise.

I've read a lot about that 40/30/30 and it seems the best way in general to eat for all round nutrition? I've taken a lot of foods out of my diet from looking at calories though, It's made me realise certain foods have more fat and bad things than the taste is worth! :) I'm going to follow the nutrition from NROWL4W.

I've just finished reading the book and can't wait to get started too! I have stitches in from having screws out of my hip at the moment so can't start yet but I'd be interested in following the journey with you! when are you starting?

Me and my partner use My Protein and buy the shakes. He buys Impact Whey and I buy Elle True Diet. He loves the chocolate flavour the best and I think it's quite nice but I only tried the Strawberry one because that's all they had at the time. Just ordered the Vanilla one but haven't tried it yet. It mixes well. (according…

Summer is easier for me. I love to eat salads and fresh cold food rather than warm comfort foods in the winter. I probably have the same amount of alcohol all year round too. Plus Summer is full of beautiful days to get out and about and winter is when I want to be all cwtched up, warm and cosy.

On occasion it can be quite flattering but when it happens a lot it can actually get quite uncomfortable and a little bit stressful. I used to have to walk past the same building every day for 6 months and absolutely hated it!

Bumping for later.

I asked my boyfriend to show me how to use his weight machine and give me some exercises to do to start me off. Last night we did Triceps and Chest. I was also surprised by how much I actually enjoyed it, so much so I just can't wait to get back in there but have been warned about overdoing it so trying to do every other…

Feel free to add me too! Need to lose another 10-15lbs also depending on how I like the changes in my body through strength training. Sounds like we are quite similar with the tomboy trait!
-
Have you tried focusing more on strength training than cardio?
-
Feel free to also add me if you like. I'm 25 too, about 5'8" and currently at 159lbs wanting to get aim to lose a little more!

Do you think it will be worth it though honestly? Burgers don't taste that great after you've spent a while eating good clean healthy nutritious food. I've made the mistake of getting a burger and feeling hideous afterwards. By all means indulge if you like and want to burn those calories off, they do it on The Biggest…

When I first started I went with what MFP calculated for me too and found it quite easy to stick to. It calculated me at 1200 a day but I lead a very sedentary lifestyle so I didn't feel I needed to up it. Recent;y I've started to get a bit more active after a hip operation and have found myself getting hungry even on the…

While travelling around Hong Kong and China a few years ago I tried things like Giant toad (I didn't know I'd eaten that one until my chinese friend told me!) Ducks feet (These were even still intact, the whole foot just loads of them in a bowl, cooked toes and everything!) and these very strange looking see through eel…

Nobody from Wales posts on here anymore?!
