Soo... What IS your solution? If it isn't to declaw the cat or find it a new home? Keep the cat, so as to not hurt its feelings, but put the toddler in danger?
-
Maybe I am misunderstanding the question. What is the option, let him get hit by a car, because then he will learn not to run in the street because it hurt so badly?
-
Nope, I still don't care who the aggressor was. Baby got hurt by the cat. Don't care why! The cat is the one that needs to go. My puppy learned to let my toddler climb on him, pull his ears and tail, without an agrressive response. Usually just a lick. It isn't that my baby is naughty, but because he is 20 months old and…

Right. But if kitty continues to scratch baby, then you have to make a decision about what's more important. Sounds like most people would choose to put the "feelings" of the kitty first (getting it declawed is cruel, getting rid of it is horrible, etc). If the kid is getting hurt because of the kitty, the kitty has to go.

The phrase "pain is an excellent teacher" is concerning to say the least. My children are very well behaved becasue I taught them to be, WITHOUT them getting hurt. A baby shouldn't be taught something through pain.
-
Oh. My. God. I seriously seriously hope you are being sarcastic in this post.
-
What we are saying is that if the cat scratched the kid, it is at fault. Not the kid, as MANY people have stated. The kid's safety and health is more important than a cat's. People were saying how mean and cruel it is to hurt the cat by having it declawed. Our point is, these people don't want to hurt the cat, but are fine…

What if OP just had to pee??!? Or there was an emergency with another child?! She cannot watch her kid and "precious" cat every second of every day. It isn't practical at all. She should be able to step away and deal with something else for a minute and trust her cat will not scracth her baby! Like I said before, I have a…

Seriously, reading these posts make me understand why there is a phrase "Crazy cat lady". Wow.
-
Are you kidding me?? "He deserved it."??? He is a 14 month old baby!! I assume you do not have children. And if you do, I feel badly for them. "Oh sorry, buddy, the cat scratched your eye and you had to wear an eyepatch? Sucks to be you, you deserved it." Good parenting.
-
Seconded. Some of you people are nuts. Kids > cat
-
. Are you serious? Did you actually just blame the 14 month old baby for getting scratched by the cat?? Or blame the OP for being a bad parent?? That is a load of crap. 14 month olds are very curious. They are going to test boundaries. That baby did not deserve to get scratched in the face because the cat is an a**hole!!…

I go over all the time due to my love for fruit. My doctor told me not to worry as much about the sugar that comes from fruit. I'd say keep enjoying that fruit!!

She is 5'7 and weighs 151 lbs. How is 900 calories eating enough? I take that back - at ANY height/weight, 900 calories is never enough!!

THIS is the problem.

EAT MORE!!!! MFP set my calorie goal to 1200 calories and I struggled to lose any weight. Last week, I manually changed my calorie goal to 1300. Guess what? In that week, I lost 2.5 pounds!! I worked out the same, the only difference in what I did was eat 100 more extra calories. It works! Your body is probably starving…

Congrats on the upcoming wedding!! I am always looking for new friends, so feel free to add me. I also had a son in July 2011 (July 8th)!! I do well with MFP for awhile, but then fall of the wagon and gain the weight back. But this time I am hoping to stick with it :-)
-
I suppose that makes sense. How do I change the calorie intake on MFP? It set me up at 1200, even with choosing to lose 1 lb/week. I guess I just assumed the system knew what it was doing for me :-) So basically what you are saying is, I can eat more (score!!!) and be satisfied with less than 1 lb/week?
