Hmmm... Actually, my job did change (I got a promotion and am on my feet 6 out of 8 hours now; before the promotion, I was I in my chair 8 hours a day).

And: no. My situation is precisely as described. When I stick to 1450 calories, I gain weight. When I hit 1650 calories, I lose weight (approx 0.5 to 1lb per week). My thought was perhaps that I was unintentionally putting my body I starvation mode? So I wanted to check with others who are also on this weight loss journey.

All of my food is weighed and measured. I gain about 2 lbs. water intake is the same day to day.

Ditto--I had no idea that 1)I ate that much and 2) I was only drinking 750 mL of water every day (and plagued by headaches and constant fatigue). 2 lbs is a great start!

I am no expert. However, I am in the same boat as you (wanting to lose weight while building muscle). I talked to my doctor about it and he told me that as you exercise, you build muscle (weight gain) and lose fat (weight loss). It's not an overnight process, unfortunately.

The foods I don't eat (because I can't control my portions): cookies, chocolate, sweets of any kind. The foods I can't eat (because of allergies): milk, shellfish, mustard, cauliflower, broccoli.
