I don't think that the pills would be worth it unless you are willing to exercise and change your diet, or you could never come off the pills b/c you would just gain it all back. That is awesome for your friend! How are the supplements that you are taking helping?

Me! Me!

Yep, NOVA here -- Lake Ridge to be exact :-)

bump - making tomorrow!

There is a pretty long hill leading up to my daughters pre-school. Last year when walking her in, I would always be short of breath by the time we got to the top. The other day, walking her into school, I realized that I haven't been out of breath once since she started back!

I have a similar problem with sodium, and really try to stay away from pre-packaged foods. However, I have read and been told that in order to negate the sodium effects, you should be taking in at least an equal amount of potassium. That being said, I find it difficult to do that as well :-/

First of all, you are not shallow or materialistic. Don't let others make you feel like that - you are working hard, and there is nothing wrong with rewarding yourself however you want :-) Interesting post though, b/c I was thinking about this the other day, and when I hit 15 lbs, I realized that my normal reward prior to…

I have a really hard time with carbs as well. I usually stay close to my goal, but may go over a little. @Sidesteal...maybe a stupid question here, but what do you mean by moving some carbs into protein?

Lake Ridge here!

Thank you everyone! I need to get a heart rate monitor for sure. I am pretty sure that burn rate is accurate though, but I think I will just err on the side of caution and only eat back about 30%, which puts me just over 2,000. I feel better about that...although I would LOVE to eat the remaining, haha

Some days I have no problem with the 1700, some days I am starving still at the end of the day, but ya 3,000 is an awfully lot to hit. I have a feeling I could do it though if I really ate what I wanted, ha.

Wow --- 147 lbs lost! That is amazing! I am actually just swimming with my daughter, so I'm not really working out per se, I am still shocked by how many calories swimming burns. I guess I will just use days like today to eat a little more of what I enjoy without feeling guilty.

I accounted for a light activity level
-
Sorry, I meant to include that --- my daily goal is 1750.
-
And, I meant that I hope NOT as far as whether I was correct or not...I really don't want to eat that much!
-
I changed my diary if you want to look, but swimming is not part of my daily activity, or it wasn't before this week. Yesterday I burned 1085 calories swimming, and still only ate 1700 calories.
-
Now that I can work with - thank you!
-
Thanks everyone~!

Needed this today, thank you! Been a bad past 5 days, with birthdays, the 4th, etc.

I love quinoa too!! I haven't used it for any breakfast-y type meals yet though, but that's next on my list!

Thank you for the links. I have now changed my settings to track potassium, and am looking back, and finding that I take in a miserably low amount...like anywhere from 400 some days to the highest of 1500, but averaging about 800 a day. Looks like I need to do some adjusting to my diet.
-
Thank you so much. I have never paid attention to potassium, and I have hypertension and diabetes...and fluid retention. Hmmm...maybe tracking this may help!

Here are my favorite two, but I have tried it tons of ways....it is awesome! http://www.ingredientsinc.net/2011/05/quinoa-with-lemon-and-fresh-herbs/ http://www.sweetannas.com/2011/12/chicken-broccoli-quinoa-casserole.html

Thanks! I was thinking of that one as well...I'm not really looking for the "easiest", but I honestly haven't really exercized in a LONG time, so I don't want to take something that is going to kill me....just want to ease into it. I plan to work my way up though, so I'm not trying to be lazy :-)

Read them and loved them! Definitely not the best written books, but they were easy, mindless reads, and my husband is begging me to read them again, haha!

Thank you --- makes sense! Here goes!

Another one here with PCOS! It sucks! I am on Metformin 1000mg a day...and I have not lost any weight on it. I have heard about so many that have lost weight with it, but no such luck. Anyway...I have recently been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, but I am going to get a second opinion...the dr I saw was not familiar with…
