She does write about refined carbs and sugars and does in fact say that the brain releases chemicals in response to these foods and they can have addictive properties. They are for me. I just love how she points out the OCD, depression, anxiety, perfectionism, the emotional hurts (I was called fatboy all of my life) etc...…

Got up 3 times to use restroom last night and did not snack or binge. Took day off running, not feeling guilty or depressed about it. Progress!

Thank you for positive vibes greekygirl & laceyjjj. Today I am proud for several things... 1. I went out to eat, had a subway turkey on wheat, no cheese. But I also ate 2 cookies and stopped. I went 24 hours without coffee and survived ;) But seriously... I really struggle with depression (body no longer makes testosterone as a result of my rapid weight loss / eating disorder) but I did fight the depression and finally got out of bed yesterday around 5:30 pm and went out for a jog of 9 miles. Woke up from an after-work nap and almost binged. Stopped myself. Went for a 10 mile run. Still came in under calories for the day.

Had great workout yesterday - 11 mile run. Got up hungry again last night. 1 am. Had a protein mug cake pre-prepared in case I got up. Avoided binge, ate protein mug cake. It is heavy & dense. Felt satisfied, went back to bed.

Ran my first race (a 5K) this morning since I was diagnosed with and began the fight against bulimia. It was difficult with all the anxiety but I just jogged the first mile, then peace settled upon my heart and mind, and I ran the last 2 miles fairly briskly. 5 of my 6 July binges all have happened in the middle of the night when I get up to use restroom. On the plus side, I know when I am at my weakest. Not sure what I can do about it though.
