  • I TOTALLY agree with what you're saying -eating low cal (high fat/ sugar) prepared foods are bad!! Not worth it! But I would say that the food and advertising industry have a lot to answer for and they can get away with a great deal in terms of what they can label as 'low fat/ lower fat' versions and if people don't read…
  • You weight is fantastic after having seven children! Hats off to you :-))
  • I'm 5'8 and would like to get to 147 before my hol in 8 weeks ( currently 149.5), but 140 would be an ideal target for me! ;-)
  • Welcome Tanica! I'll add you. This site is great and you'll get lots of support! Liz x:smile:
  • Trying on some old jeans this weekend...not as tight as when I last tried them, more like loose tight now, few more pounds and I reckon I'll be able to wear them again!

  • I love running! Take your time, build up, get your breathing right and mix walk/ run until you can build up to running continuously for thirty minutes. It does not matter how slow you go, really! Running is just a fast walk, and the more you do it, the better you get, your fitness progress will spur you on. Good luck, it…
  • I'm not familiar with the fitness programs you refer to, but I DO agree that skinny people can be unfit, I might be a stone or two heavier than girls I work with but I could leave them all behind in a run!!! It is all about heart rate, resting heart rate and the sort of exercises you are used to. Anyone, any size, if they…
  • Hi all, just checking in! Was hard going to reach it this week but I just made it. Had to run most days to get high burns. Think my metabolism is sluggish as my cals burned on HRM seem so low.. Have to work it!!! Monday -664 , 40min run and 46min Jillian! Tuesday -383, 41min run Wednesday -433, 40min run Thursday -312,…
  • Go with what works best for you. I'm getting back into logging after Christmas and so far stay under cals. I log everything I eat, despite what it is, if people want to comment then that's great/ helpful. I don't make comments about other people's food choices though. I have a day off once a week so that I can have a…
  • Hi, You can get iron from other sources besides meat including fortified cereals, dark green leafy veg, lentils, nuts.. Women have lower iron levels than men due to menstruating too. I take liquid iron supplement near my time of month, plus vitamin B6 is good for energy levels. Google iron sources and I'm sure you'll find…

  • Heart Rate Monitor is your best bet. They're pricey but a good investment, and they spur you on! I do think the cals on MFP are exaggerated.
  • You can create your own cardio exercise type, when you select cardio exercise search for wii just dance and if it's not there then there is an option to add it to your database, but you have to put your own calories as well as when you put in your minutes, with a HRM you can do this as you'll have your own accurate calorie…
  • I love food too and my calories are set at 1420, so I'd struggle with 1200. Plus if I exercise I eat some or most of my calories in order to refuel. I cant go to bed hungry either. Feeling hungry all the time cant be 'healthy', some people might find it empowering in their weight loss mission but really its can't be a…
  • Awesome weight loss, looking fit and healthy. Well done!
  • You will open up a discussion no doubt..! ;-) Your previous workouts and calories intake would surely reap rewards without question, and it would take some serious committment and will power to exercise for that amount of time with fewer calories than your body needs. When I did some serious running miles a few years back…
  • Ah, don't feel disheartened.. you'll soon see a change and its good that you're waiting until Sept 1st.. Loving your Yoda quote by the way.. ;-) ....
  • First things first..welcome aboard! And congrats on your recent addition, 3 kids must be a handful! Get yourself some fitpal friends for your support and encouragement and you'll be off on your weight loss journey!! Feel free to add me! ;-)
  • Way to go on the loss and training so far! I too did a first 5k in just over 30 minutes and my first 10k was 57 minutes and it was a hilly route.. ;-) perhaps miss a day of 4.5 miles have a rest day (you need those for recovery..) and then the following day try a longer run, perhaps without stopping, just jog really slowly…
  • I had my first try at level one today n yes there are quite a few jumping jacks going on..I remember her saying she has 400 pound people doing them so no excuses.. But I would just adapt it, do side taps n get your arms pumping, keep at it, it'll get easier..I'm not sure about the peeing urges, maybe look into pelvic floor…
  • I try to avoid them, its all so artificial and causes bloating. If you drink fruit juices instead, watch out though, they contain a lot of sugars and can really push up daily calorie totals, as I've recently discovered! I've drank 2 litres of water today for the first time (on purpose), and its not been too much of a…

  • Yes, I keep it locked now, I never used to and then I'd check it and realise I'd paused it!! I have no music downloaded on mine, carry a phone and an i-pod, which I don't mind..but do you listen to music on your i-phone simultaneously..? Liz

  • Yes, I use Runkeeper for my cycle rides and runs -though my replacement i-phone screen has cracked and I'm waiting for another replacement ;(.. The battery runs low unless you turn wireless off and the brightness down! But yes, its fantastic, its great to check out the route and it breaks down each mile/km..I have the free…

  • Wow! You have done brilliantly and if you are doing lots of running, you need cals!. I agree 1200 should be minimum cals for women to eat!! Leave the quick fixes to it, you've had your rant ..and you're the one who has done soo well, and done it the right way ;-)
