Here it is.....drumroll please....LOL Week...IDK Started cut on Sept 7 at 196.4 Sept 14 194.8 Sept 21 194.8 Sept 28 193.8 Oct 5 193.8 Oct 13 192.4 Nov 23 192.4 The last month (from Oct to Nov) was the most consistent I've been with cals @2100 since I began this journey and it's really because I gave up the scale. Now that…

Cheers! Yeah...why sell it in October?? I have one the night before Thanksgiving (with Kahlua) and then on Christmas I have 1. That's it! The holidays are holiDAYS not holiWEEKS. Enjoy the day. Dump the leftovers or send them home with others. 1 day in November and 1 day in December isn't going to kill any of us. And…

Oh, but that puts so much stress on you. It's like punishing yourself my making you feel uncomfortable in your clothes because you "fat" and need to "fix" it. Buy 2 new pairs of jeans and a couple shirts. Wear the dresses. Dress comfortably and eat normally. Healthy, sufficient calories. You sound like your job/life is so…
-
Yeah...I bet your injury is to blame for the scale bump. I'm glad you're feeling good! Are you taking Thanksgiving off or the whole week?

He is often right (heybales is a lovely gentleman). It's because the struggle is real. Even for people who do it and have done it. We hear that eat less thing replay over and over in our head. And though we know it's partially true, we don't have to be extreme. We panic. We don't trust ourselves. We feel like it's a big…

Cut just means cutting calories...in a caloric deficit. You have 3 choices when it comes to deciding your calorie goal. Maintain. Cut or Bulk. Bulk would be more calories than you need if your plan on putting on muscle. Cut is just deficit. You do it after a reset if you need to drop fat.

Yes, progress. I'll update my thread on Monday ("Ripping off the Bandaid")! There's one updated tricep picture in there now though! The scale hopped around so very much for me and always does that it was messing with me. Now monthly weigh ins will give me an idea if I need to change anything slightly or stay the course.
-
My pre reset clothes still don't fit me. About 1 month in to cutting now. But I ditched the scale. And it will happen. Consistency is the only answer. Deep breath!

That's actually great then! Perfect place to start. I didn't mean to imply that you were that way specifically. Perhaps it was just me.

We all come here wanting someone to just tell us the numbers. LOL Unfortunately, you have to figure out your own numbers over time. Isn't that a pain? LOL I think that you have a decent figure to start at. Give it a solid month and record what happens. If your weight stabilizes than that's TDEE. If it goes up, too high,…

Nice!!!

Cutting here. On 2100. We'll see in 2 weeks how the number works.
-
Thanks all. And wow! Just sayin. I had no idea. Thank you.

Here's an arm shot from yesterday. Cuts now visible have never been there (have lifted for 18 years and dieted down to lower weight while lifting and still...weren't there). Sorry about the smudgy mirror in my son's room...didn't notice it until after and then cleaned it. LOL

Yes. Yes, and yes. Give up the scale forever. Do you really care what the scale says if you look the way you want? That's really what you're after. A look. So maybe pick a cal level. Eat that way for 2 months. Lift. If your clothes are fitting even slightly better, knock off 50 cals a day. Try that for 2 months. Of course,…

So this update isn't really much of an update. I'm settling in to this as just something I do. Fitbit is now recording same avg as bodymedia (I do log weight lifting separate but everything else is good)....2500 ish. My eating target is 2100. Plan to weigh on the Weds before Thanksgiving and then again right before…

LOL. Funny update. Ditched the scale here too. It totally messes with you. Like, you know you're changing. And you feel different. Look different. Clothes are fitting better and then the scale says up so you think you must be kidding yourself and you're eating too much and you must eat less ...blah blah blah. Not weighing…

Oh! You're welcome! I'm glad sharing my story (struggles and all) is helping people. I'll update in a few days again!

Muscle. Kiki (from Eat More Weigh Less) just did a persicope about this very issues. When you diet down, you lose muscle, some water, fat, etc...lots of stuff. And then your metabolism slows down (becomes efficient...remember, your body wants homeostasis). Building muscle and lifting weights help to preserve metabolism. As…

Yup. Ripping off the bandaid is the title. I ate at or over for 12 weeks and gained 10 lbs. I'm only newly into cutting. I'm currently weighing only every 6 weeks since the scale is never kind to me. Pictures show changes though clothes aren't fitting yet. I'm taking this cut very very slowly.
-
I did 12 weeks.

I'm here!!!! I had a couple of stupid weeks (too low calories trying to speed things along). Felt terrible and it didn't help. Back to the usual....1900ish. But I am not weighing. Possibly monthly so it won't be for a while. I got so caught up in the scale moving that I stopped doing the things that I know work. 12 week…

LOL.... This week...up .8 Deficit was 643 avg daily. Not happy. No whoosh happened when I started to cut. Started Sept 7 2.6 down now. Just wanted more.
-
LOL I don't think so.
-
And something else...I'm having a little issue with my body media armband....Weds for example. Cleaned my house for 3 hours. Walk/ran (c25k) 1 hour (did 4.5 miles)....plus all the other normal stuff. Steps came in at 12958. Now, for 4..5 miles at my height , it would be about 2300 steps per mile so 10350. So that's 2605…
-
Also, am thinking of switching to fit bit (not sure which one yet and am open to suggestions) and ditching the bodymedia.....my concern is that bodymedia is still the most accurate. Anyone have thoughts or comments or suggestions?

I'm still here....trying to get my deficit numbers down. Wk 1 -1.6 Wk 2 same Wk 3 -1.8 Honestly I expected a big whoosh at the beginning from water weight. Didn't happen. So I'd hoped to be in the 180's to start dieting down again (where I was at the beginning). Didn't happen. LOL I'm still playing with the numbers and…

Yesterday. Ate 2401 burned 2128. 195.4 this morning.

Eating more is fun but it's not getting us to our goal weight, huh? I'm in your boat too. I am just starting my cut. Good luck! Thanks for the update!
