  • I did my first one this summer and am totally hooked! I have my seconD one coming up in about two weeks.
  • I've got the exercise part and healthy living down, I think, though I can't relate on the other stuff! Check out my profile, I'm happy to add you if you think you'd like to be my friend.
  • Welcome! And good luck :)

  • I don't know if it's good for all that, but it's DELICIOUS in smoothies. It does work as a sunblock, I know from personal experience. It's great to cook with, too, if you don't mind your food tasting like coconut!
  • If you don't want to take a horse pill and you have a Trader Joe's near you, they make a chewable multi-vitamin that's berry flavored and not bad at all! I like it WAY better than having to swallow those huge pills.
  • I really enjoy it! I love that feeling of strength and power I get when I have a really awesome run or lifting session and I love the tangible results that come from it. It's a no-lose situation! I have to say, it DID take me a while before I figured out what worked for me, and before that I hated it but did it because I…
  • I can't be of much help other than commiserate - I'm not working right now either and my schedule has been thrown out of whack and I am totally suffering for it. Not getting workouts in when I should, eating more because it's available and I'm not running around so much. It's tough when we feel like we've got it figured…
  • You can definitely get to your goal! I think we all need a break sometimes - both mentally and physically - from the whole weight loss thing. It's great to take some time to give our bodies a rest from the calorie deficit and the abuse that heavy exercise can inflict as well as all the mental work from calorie counting.…
  • My boobs have gotten smaller, but only by one cup size (so far!). I went from a DD to a D, but I think they look way better! I am in much better proportion than I was before and I can get better bras for cheaper so they are hiked up to the right spot. So don't despair just yet :)
  • That's awesome! Congratulations! I like to keep one pair of jeans around from when I started this whole thing, because it's fun to get in them every once in a while and feel good about how far I've come but every other pair has gone straight to goodwill as soon as they're too big.

  • Nope! Lunch for me is pretty standard because it's easy - hummus, veggies, fruit, yoghurt, and crackers. I think as long as you're hitting your macros and getting a good variety of foods within that day (i.e., lots of fresh fruits and veggies) then you're good.
  • Did you put your information into the site? Go with what mfp tells you!
  • Bourbon! A glass of that on the rocks... mmmm. And calorie wise, not awful! I'll take a red wine or beer too. I often use booze to make up calories at the end of the day!
  • I don't. I give in and get my salty snacks as healthily as possibly - I like popcorn made on the stove with a bit of salt, and some chocolate. It's satisfying and I can keep it within my calories, so who cares? I find that if I try and push back the cravings, I eventually go crazy and just pig out so this works way better…
  • Oh my god, are you me? Sometimes I stare at recent pictures of me because I don't really believe that they are me. Even though they have to be, there's just.. some kind of disconnect there.
  • You really should! I did a clinic at the lake my triathlon was at and it was SO helpful. I got a lot of tips about open water swimming and just getting a chance to swim with other people around me. That, coupled with heading back to the lake a few times before the race calmed my nerves a lot. Sounds like you're doing the…
  • This exactly. I make things stretch as far as I can (literally.. I heart my jeggings), but every once in a while I need to buy a new piece, but it's never a whole new wardrobe. That being said, some times I do splurge on a few new shirts or something because it DOES make me feel good to have stuff that fits!
  • Oh god, that makes me feel less alone!
  • Eat more! Only thing that's worked for me. I upped my calories to maintenance to give myself a break when I hit a plateau and that's what got the scale moving again.
  • Fat? I'd like to think curvy, but I think I'm still just fat. One day I hope to be described as athletic!
  • Me! Well, used to anyway :) I was able to go off my meds recently, my thyroid decided to kick itself into gear with the rest of my body I guess!
  • My calorie intake is 2,000 - 2,500 a day and what I eat varies day to day a lot! You're welcome to check out my diary, though, it should be public.
  • I don't buy the meal replacement shakes (too much money and junk in it), but I'm the same as you - I'm not a big breakfast person, so I make a smoothie! Banana + scoop of vanilla protein powder + coconut milk + whatever frozen fruit I'm in the mood for. Usually around 350 calories and super filling!
  • Yes! Exactly - for some reason, even though I have done a few running races before, this was the first time "athlete" as really clicked for me ! And I am totally hooked! Looking for my next one already.
  • I'm a vegetarian and I take a daily multi-vitamin which has 50% of my iron for the day. That plus some dark green veggies, and I'm always over. That being said - I agree with what danadark said. If your doctor says your fine, I would trust them! Nothing wrong with a little extra spinach and kale in your diet, though :)
  • Haha, I'm already planning my next one for September :) I had SO MUCH FUN!
  • Thank you! I can't even tell you how excited I was when I went through that finish line, it was amazing.
  • Do it! I started C25k when I was training for this thing because I had NEVER run before, and I'm still only on week 8! I still have a long way to go on the weight loss thing, but hey, every step counts right? Good luck on your race, you'll rock it I'm sure!
