Inside? No way - I'm in Boston and I run outside year round! Way too boring indoors.

Everyone has already said go (I can't tell you how many races I've done in the rain), but I'll offer one more bit of advice: newspaper in your sneakers afterwards to help them dry out faster. Enjoy your run!

I can't speak as a marathoner (I won't do one until February 2015 - currently in 70.3 training mode), but I'm big in to racing, I LOVE IT. It's really what gets me excited and keeps me training. In the last year and a half, I've done 26 races. By the time 2013 is over I will have done 18 races this year alone (mix of 5ks,…

Good luck! I started on C25k having NEVER run in my life. Like, avoided it at all costs in gym class never run in my life. I just finished my second half marathon a few weeks ago, have done 26 races in the last two years and just signed up for my first half ironman. So YES IT WORKS. Stick with it, slow down your pace if…

Depends on what the benefits are. I don't eat bacon anyway!

Walking is fantastic exercise! Don't worry about what you can't do, and don't worry about comparing yourself to other users. It's about the calorie deficit. Cardio exercise only helps increase that. Work on those walks and work on increasing them, and you'll be doing fabulously. Good luck!

Ah, you're me 6 years ago! I was 290 when I was in college (damn, now I feel old...). Congrats on all you've done so far! Feel free to add me if you'd like a cheerleader :)

Well, I think you answered your own question! They just haven't experienced it. I don't get that high from exercise alone, but I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE racing. Seriously, I get giddy on triathlon race mornings and that post race high (especially when I've gotten a PR) can last me for a week. I enjoy cycling and I like running,…

You are MUCH faster than I am (peeped your profile), but I'm also a triathlete and I'm doing my second half marathon this weekend, so, if you're interested I'd love to be friends!
-
I like to lift lots of heavy things! And put them down, too!
-
Stick with it! It absolutely gets better with time. I started last March, and since then I have done 21 races including 4 triathlons and I'm set to do my first half marathon in the beginning of October. You really have to trust the process and don't be afraid to repeat days and slow it down if you need to. You can see by…

It's fun?

Hey-oooo, bipolar II over here.

I have lots of feels about this, but I could never have gotten to a place where I thought my body was worth taking care of it if I didn't get to a place where I really, and truly loved it when I was at my fattest. When I loved myself, I realized I was worthwhile enough to fuel myself right and do the things that had always…

Ahh, awesome! Thanks so much guys. I always just assumed you couldn't swim in contacts, but it's been years since I wore them. I'm gonna see them if I can get them for my September race. Will just have to tough it out for my Saturday one!
-
That's awesome! I have my first in (gulp) just over a month. Congratulations and good luck!
-
You'll be fine to run Friday, especially if you're planning on taking Saturday off. Congrats and good luck on the 5k!
-
Hmm, I'll have to check out the athletic frames, thank you! My concern with contacts is that I couldn't wear them for the swim leg and there would be no time/place for me to put them in during transition, though they're definitely an option when I'm training.
-
Glad you found me to add me! :) Have you picked a race yet?
-
I added you! Triathlons are how I got in to this whole fitness thing and I kind of fell in love with them. They are so much fun and definitely an attainable goal. Any one else is more than welcome to add me as well!

Lifting is my favorite!
-
Totally. I'm about 20 pounds heavier than I was the same time last year, but I'm still wearing the same clothes, and some of my jeans are even fitting better than they were. Combination of heavy lifting and bodies being weird!

Eat more. Netting that much for the day sooo not enough.
-
Vegetarian here, feel free to add!

You had me at "New England".

yup, always have, always will. http://shouldieatmyexercisecalories.com/

LOVED IT. Turned me from a non-runner to a triathlete and am now training for my first half marathon. I recommend it to everyone!

I use unsweetened coconut milk - tastes amazing!

Absolutely. I mean, just look at my clicker. When I don't use the site and log, I make worse choices (though not as bad as I used to). I'm alright with that!
